T H E P A R T Y
It's been two days since my parents and I moved to Laguna Beach and honestly I started to like it here.
Yesterday my mom and I went into the town to shop for a while, of course the city was a lot smaller than San Diego, but it's still nice. I went for a few walks around the beaches so I would get to know the new area.
Right now I was in Cara's room, lying on her bed, watching a movie with her. She texted me earlier and asked me if I would like to hang out with her.
Her room was pretty cool, just like her house. The walls were painted in a light blue color, and decorated with some ocean pictures. Overall her room was decorated in a beachy aesthetic which I really liked. A big TV on the opposite side of the bed, currently playing Friday the 13th, a slasher movie. That was another thing we had in common, liking horror movies. She had a big DVD collection of the most classic horror movies piled up next to her TV.
"Are you excited to start school on monday?" She asked before she put a handful of popcorn into her mouth.
"Yeah kind of, I guess. Honestly I'm a bit nervous." I admitted. It's probably going to be hard for the first few days being the new girl.
"There is no need to be, it's going to be alright. I mean at least you already know someone, me!" She pointed at herself.
She was right, this made it a lot easier than not knowing anyone at all.
"Do you already know which college you want to go to?" She asked. Since it was our senior-year in highschool, college was an important part of it.
"Yeah, I would like to attend the NYU. What about you?"
"I would like to go to Yale to study business, do you know what you want to study?"
This time it was me, who was eating a handful of popcorn before I answered her question.
"I want to get a degree in Arts." Painting was always my passion, since I was a little kid I drew onto everything even places I shouldn't have just like onto the walls. And to be honest I was pretty good at painting, not on walls obviously but in general. Since I packed out everything in my room there were a lot of painting utensils stocked in my drawers.
"That sounds cool," Cara said and focused back on the movie that was showing someone getting brutally murdered. Even though I liked these kinds of movies, I still thought it was disgusting but Cara on the other hand seemed to enjoy that scene since she was chuckling as the victim of the killer suffered.
Suddenly Caras phone lit up, showing a message on it. She picked up the phone to see who texted her.
"Oh crap," She said and got up from her lying position. "I completely forgot that today's Mason's birthday." She thought out loud.
Mason must've been one of her friend group's members.
"He's gonna throw a party tonight and asked me if I want to come, what do you think? Do you want to join?" She asked me after she read through his message.
It was really nice to ask me and wanting to include me, but since it's his birthday, I didn't know if it's the best idea to take me with.
"Uhm, it's really nice, but I don't know, I think it's a bit weird to show up at his birthday-party since he doesn't know me at all." I told her.
"No worries, he's cool with that and I don't think he will care if there's one more person or not," She said. "And it's a great opportunity for you to meet new people." She added.
