If I would've known what was going to await me in Laguna Beach, I would've never gone there.

But at this moment I was clueless about that and I was just glad about finally moving away from my old home, to leave the past behind and start a fresh life in a new place.

The music was blasting through my headphones while I was looking out of the car window. The last time when I asked my parents how long it would take to finally arrive, they promised me it would only take a few more minutes. So I assumed that what I was seeing right now was going to be my future hometown.

It didn't look much different from my old home, the rocky beach with its clear-blue ocean, the tall palms, the bright sunshines that was reflecting on the ocean and the expensive looking houses lined up just a few meters away from the beach. I was excited but nervous at the same time, I would have to go to a new school and find new friends, not only that, it was my senior year and that meant I would have to apply to colleges. But to be honest, I have to put a lot of effort into school so I could go to my dream college, the NYU.

But for the next week I would have time to get used to my new hometown before the schoolstress would begin.

After a few minutes the car took its final turn and stopped in front of a big, expensive house. At first I couldn't imagine that this house would be the one I'm going to live in. It was white with gold decorations around the windows and the balcony. Outside of it, there were some palms and other exotic flowers. On the opposite side of our new home there was another house, it was even bigger than ours. It was obvious that someone was already living there since there were some bikes and cars parked in front of it.

"This is it, this is our new home." My dad announced excitedly. He or better said his new job was the reason we even moved here. About two months ago he got offered the place of work here as an estate agent, he instantly said "yes" since we were planning to move anyway and he also got offered a great salary. The only "negative" thing was that his new boss would be our neighbor, but I didn't really care about that.

Both my parents got outside the car to inspect our new house. At first I hesitated to get out and start a new chapter of my life, but then I dared myself to get out.

The sunshines glared directly into my face as I looked at our house, trying to find out which room would be mine.

"Come'on Gracie," My mom said as she opened the trunk to get out our stuff. "Get your things and go into the house."

I walked behind our black car and took out one of my boxes, "Gracie's room #1" was written on it with a pen. I walked up to the porch where my dad was holding up the door.

When I walked into the house I was surprised, in a positive way. The house was so huge and stunning, of course our old home was nice too but this topped everything.

In our garden there was a pool that I was sure of I would jump into today. It would take me some time to get used to that luxury.

I walked by the kitchen to the staircase that led upstairs. It took me a moment until I found my room.

The first thing that I saw was the beautiful view from my window onto the graceful ocean. I laid my box onto my new bed and sat next to it. I opened the box and started to take out some things, things like pictures of me and my old friend group which gave good but also bad memories about that time.

I put away that picture and I looked for my painting and drawing utensils but these were in another box so I went back downstairs to carry up all of my boxes to install and decorate my new room.
