In the sprawling gardens of an elegant mansion, the wedding of Remo Falcone and Serafina was nothing short of a fairytale. The mansion itself stood as a testament to timeless elegance, with its grand white columns and intricate stonework exuding a sense of history and grace. Its balconies, draped with lush greenery, overlooked the vast, meticulously maintained gardens below.
As guests arrived, they were greeted by the enchanting fragrance of roses, jasmine, and lavender wafting through the air. The garden was a riot of color and life, with blooming flowers in every shade imaginable, their petals kissed by the soft glow of the afternoon sun.
At the heart of this verdant paradise stood a magnificent altar, the focal point of the ceremony. It was adorned with cascading floral arrangements in delicate hues of white and blush, interwoven with soft greenery that seemed to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Gentle white fabric flowed from the altar, caught occasionally by a light breeze that added to the scene's ethereal beauty.
Rows of elegant white chairs with satin cushions were arranged neatly before the altar, each adorned with a small bouquet that mirrored the floral arrangements on the altar. These chairs lined a pristine white carpet that formed the aisle, leading to the altar. This aisle was delicately sprinkled with rose petals, creating a pathway that seemed to float on a sea of soft pink and white. Along its edges, lanterns with flickering candles added a warm, inviting glow, casting gentle shadows as the sun began to dip lower in the sky.
Remo and Serafina exchanged rings and recited their vows. Nino, the best man, wore a black suit with a turtleneck inner shirt and looked nothing short of breathtaking. As the bridesmaid, I was dressed in a red off shoulder gown. Serafina wore a stunning, off-shoulder white gown that Remo couldn't take his eyes off.
Samuel was the only member of Serafina's family who attended the ceremony. There were some tense moments and exchanged glares between him and the Falcone brothers, but fortunately, they behaved themselves, not wanting to ruin the wedding. Nevio, dressed in a tiny suit, stood beside Savio, holding his index finger, while Greta held my hand, watching the ceremony quietly and attentively.
After the heartfelt ceremony, guests were guided to a large, transparent marquee tent set up adjacent to the ceremony area. This tent allowed everyone to continue enjoying the garden's beauty while being sheltered from any unexpected weather. Twinkling fairy lights and elegant chandeliers hung from the tent's ceiling, casting a magical glow over the reception.
Inside the tent, round tables were set with the finest china, crystal glassware, and silver cutlery, each place setting a work of art. Lush floral centerpieces graced every table, accompanied by candles that flickered gently, their light reflecting off the delicate accents of gold and silver interspersed among the flowers.
At one end of the tent, a polished wooden dance floor awaited, surrounded by more twinkling lights and garlands of greenery. A stage was set for the live band, ready to fill the night with music and joy.
As dusk turned to night, the garden transformed under the blanket of stars, with every light and candle contributing to an atmosphere of romance and celebration. Remo and Serafina's wedding was not just an event but a moment frozen in time.
When Remo first announced their wedding a month ago, I couldn’t believe he had actually decided to settle down. Over the weeks, observing Remo, I saw how Fina had him wrapped around her finger. He treated her with a respect and kindness he had never shown anyone else. He took on the responsibility of caring for the twins. I knew Remo would never intentionally hurt her. I wholeheartedly approved of their marriage. I was so happy Fina got to marry someone she loved rather than a man who had been arranged for her, whom she knew nothing about.
Standing under the open night sky, I reminisced about my memories with Serafina—how we first met, talked about boys, and went shopping together. I couldn’t believe she was finally married. It felt like a proud older sister moment for me. I was lost in thought when Nino gently placed his jacket over my shoulders.
"It’s cold. You’ll catch a cold," he said.
"Thank you, Nino." I smiled up at him and kissed his cheek.
"A penny for your thoughts?" he asked.
"I was just thinking about all the time Serafina and I spent together. I can’t believe she’s already grown up. It seems like just yesterday when I first met her." I said, staring at the night sky with a gentle smile on my face.
Nino hugged me from behind and kissed the top of my head. This moment felt so good. I hoped it would last forever.
