Nino Falcone
I woke up to the feeling of light kisses all over my face. I opened my eyes to see Hope leaning over with a grinning face.
"Good morning." Hope said before she continued peppering kisses all over my face. She purposely avoided my lips, teasing me.
Her shoulder was almost completely healed. It's been about 2 months and no success in finding Carmine. There were no other threats after that note either. I was getting more and more impatient by the day. I wanted to give him the worst kind of death for hurting Hope.
I was brought out of my thoughts with a light bite on my bottom lip.
I flipped Hope over, hovering over her. I traced kisses from her lips to her neck, leaving my mark on her, biting in. She let out a gasp.
She tugged at my hair gently so that our eyes met. She gave me a peck on my lips.
"We'll find him, Nino. You're ruining your health worrying too much about it." Hope said softly, caressing my cheeks.
"I just never want to see you hurt like that again. The fact that you could've died and I could not do anything about it made me lose my mind." I replied, burying my head into her neck.
She played with my hair whispering words of comfort into my ears.
"You won't lose me, Nino. I'm way too stubborn for that. You're stuck with me for the rest of eternity."
We were interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Nino, we're needed in one of the clubs. I'll wait for you downstairs." Remo called out from the other side of the door.
I groaned as Hope burst out laughing. I kissed her one last time before I headed to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
After my shower, i had my towel wrapped around my waist. I moved to the mirror to make sure my hair is in place. Through the mirror, I saw Hope enter the bathroom and check me out.
In two steps, I covered the distance between us.
"You're really tempting me, Mia Regina. I'm barely holding back from fucking you against the wall. That nightgown is definitely not helping." I growl.
She laughed. "Remo will kill both of us if you do that. I'm just here to get ready for the day as well." Hope said, innocently.
I gave her one last kiss before walking back into our room to get ready. I could hear the shower running, which tempted me to go join. However Remo was not all that patient.
Remo was waiting for me in the car. I got into the passenger seat and Remo began driving.
We pulled up at The Sugar Trap. Apparently we had to deal with some problematic individual.
The manager also told us about some boxes coming from the garbage area. After settling the issue as peacefully as possible, we went to check out the noise.
Remo constantly complained about how we ran this city yet we were digging through garbage.
While we were searching we found a baby, barely a few months. He wore a torn baby trouser. His stomach has ciggerate burns on them.
"Fuck! He's not breathing." I said, surprised someone actually there their own child in the trash. "He's severely malnourished."
I started giving him CPR. After a few moments he started breathing again. I let out a sigh of relief.
"I'll get him to the hospital. You go talk to Hope. Maybe she'll want to adopt him. If not I'll talk to Fina about it." Remo instructed.
I was sure Hope would be ecstatic but would she be willing to adopt a child? Especially since we aren't even married.
When i reached home, Hope was in the kitchen baking cookies. I hugged her from behind. Almost as though she could serve something was wrong, she turned around and cupped my face, her face filled with worry.
"What's wrong Nino?" She asked.
I was a little hesitant to ask her about the child especially since she's dealing with her responsibilities as Queen, the threat from Carmine, settling into Falcone mansion. But I asked her anyway for the same of the child.
"We found a severely malnourished baby in the garbage. Someone threw him there because they didn't want him."
She gasped. She looked at me in horror.
"Who would even do that? Is the child okay?""He's currently in the hospital, Remo's with him. I came here to ask if you would want to adopt him along with me." I asked hesitantly.
"Of course, Nino. I'll just get my jacket. We have to go there right away." She ran upstairs to get her jacket. She was back in no time wearing a warm long coat.
"Are you sure Hope? I know we're not even married."
"Yes Nino. We might not be married but I know I'm spending the rest of my life with you so it doesn't't bother me at all." She said looking up at me with so much trust and determination. I nodded and led her towards the car.
I'm going to be a father. I don't know how good I'll be but I'll do my best to give him the life he deserves. I'm excited to start a family with Hope, the love of my life.
