I gazed at the small baby in the hospital bed, his stomach marked with burn scars. My heart ached at the sight. How could his mother have inflicted such harm on him?

"Have you thought of a name?" Remo asked gently.

"I was thinking Alessio, Alessio Falcone," I replied, my gaze fixed on the baby. My baby. I vowed silently to shower him with all the love in the world.

"That's a strong name. Fit for a Falcone," Nino murmured, pressing a tender kiss to my temple.

I smiled gratefully at him. A nurse entered the room with a bottle for the baby. I took it from her and carefully began feeding him. She hurriedly left, clearly unsettled by Remo and Nino's presence.

Remo eventually excused himself, allowing us some family time. He also went to gather information about the child, like his birth date.

Nino draped his arm around me as I cradled the peacefully sleeping baby, who had been callously abandoned.

"I'm sorry if everything is happening too quickly," Nino said softly, his expression filled with concern.

"Nino, I've already decided I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I'm ready for this. I know you'll be a wonderful father, and I'll do everything I can to be a mother who Alessio deserves."

"You'll be the best mother a child can study for. I'm sure of it." Nino said gently.

I gently nodded, feeling overwhelmed with emotion as I glanced down at Alessio's peaceful face. "Thank you," I whispered, my voice trembling slightly. "For everything."

Nino pressed a kiss to my forehead, his touch comforting. "We'll give him everything he deserves, Hope. And more."

The hours passed quietly, filled with tender moments as we took turns holding Alessio and watching over him. Remo returned later that evening with more information about Alessio's background, but it only strengthened our resolve to give him a future filled with love and security.

As night fell, Nino and I settled into a makeshift bed in the hospital room, Alessio nestled between us.

The next day, as sunlight filtered through the hospital room window, casting a gentle glow on Alessio nestled in my arms, Nino approached with a soft smile on his face. He knelt beside us, his eyes filled with love and determination.

"Mia Regina," he began, taking my hand in his, "from the moment I met you, I knew my life was forever changed. You've shown me what it means to love unconditionally, to nurture and protect with all your heart. And now, seeing you with Alessio, I am certain that this is where I want to be—by your side, as your partner in this journey of parenthood."

Tears welled up in my eyes as I listened to his heartfelt words. Nino continued, his voice steady with emotion, "Will you marry me, Alessia? Will you make me the happiest man alive and let us build our future together, as a family?"

Overwhelmed with love for both Nino and Alessio, I nodded vigorously, unable to find my voice amidst the surge of emotions. Nino slipped a ring onto my finger, a symbol of his commitment and our shared dreams.

With Alessio gurgling happily between us, we embraced, knowing that from that moment on, our love would only grow stronger, our family more complete, as we embarked on a new chapter together—one filled with love, laughter, and the promise of forever.

"I love you, Nino." I said as he wiped tears that slipped from my eyes.

"I love you more, my queen, my sunshine. I didn't live my life till I met you. You've made my life so much more brighter. Now with Alessio we'll be a complete family. I'll make him my hair even if he's not related to me by blood he's always gonna be my first son "

I nodded, finally content. We could take Alessio back home today. I can't wait for Greta and Nevio to meet him. The family well be ecstatic.
