As the night stretches on, Jay remains by Hailey's side, offering her the comfort and solace she so desperately craves. And she allows herself to fall asleep in the safety of Jay's arms. As the first light of dawn breaks through the darkness, they find hope in the knowledge that together, they can overcome even the darkest of days.

As dawn breaks over the city skyline, Jay remains steadfast, his love for Hailey serving as a beacon of hope in the darkness. And though the road ahead may be fraught with danger and uncertainty, he knows that as long as he has her by his side, they can overcome anything together.

Jay gently shifts Hailey in his arms, ensuring she's comfortable before he rises from the bed as the doctor enters the room. With a subtle gesture, Jay signals to maintain silence, understanding Hailey's need for rest and peace.

Outside Hailey's room, the doctor, with a concerned expression, addresses Jay. "Mr. Halstead, did she wake up at all throughout the night?" he inquires, his voice tinged with professional concern. Jay nods, his gaze reflecting a mixture of relief and worry. "Yes, she woke up a few hours ago. She was groggy and disoriented at first, but she recognized me immediately," he explains, his tone tinged with a sense of reassurance.

"She fell back asleep after recalling the trauma she went through. She had a slight panic attack, but she managed to calm down." The doctor listens attentively, jotting down the details in Hailey's file. "It's a positive sign that she woke up so soon," he remarks, offering a semblance of comfort. "It's normal for survivors to remember their trauma immediately and experience panic attacks. Physically, she seems to be stable, which is encouraging."

As Jay absorbs the doctor's assessment, a sense of gratitude washes over him. Despite the challenges they face, there's a glimmer of hope in knowing that Hailey is surrounded by compassionate professionals who are dedicated to her well-being.

With a heartfelt nod of appreciation, Jay prepares to reenter Hailey's room, his mind filled with thoughts of how to best support her through the difficult journey ahead. As he steps back inside, he finds solace in the knowledge that together, they will navigate the road to recovery, one step at a time.

After Jay re-enters Hailey's room, he finds her sleeping peacefully, her features softened by the tendrils of sleep. Gently, he adjusts the blanket around her, ensuring she remains comfortable. Sitting beside her, Jay watches over Hailey, his heart heavy with the weight of her pain yet filled with determination to see her through the darkness. As the hours pass, Jay remains vigilant, keeping a silent vigil by Hailey's bedside. The quiet of the hospital room is only broken by the soft hum of medical equipment and Hailey's steady breathing. In the stillness, Jay reflects on the journey they've embarked upon together, the trials they've faced, and the strength they've discovered in each other's presence.

As dawn breaks, Hailey stirs awake, her eyes fluttering open to meet Jay's gaze. There's a fleeting moment of confusion before recognition dawns in her eyes, and a small smile tugs at the corners of her lips. Jay returns the smile, his heart swelling with love and gratitude for the resilience she embodies. Together, they share a quiet moment of connection, their unspoken words echoing the depth of their bond.

In the warmth of each other's presence, they find solace and strength, drawing courage from the love that binds them together. Throughout the day, Jay remains by Hailey's side, offering her unwavering support and encouragement as she navigates the challenges of recovery. He holds her hand through moments of uncertainty, offering words of comfort and reassurance when doubts threaten to overwhelm her.

With each passing day, they will find strength in each other's presence, drawing closer as they confront the shadows of the past and embrace the promise of a brighter tomorrow.

As the nurse who has been taking care of Hailey walks in doing her final checks for the night, Jay and Hailey greet her, before she asks Hailey a few questions, checks a few things, then leaves her room to attend to other patients.

As they are cuddling together on Hailey's hospital bed, Jay holding Hailey securely and safe in his arms, notices how she starts fidgeting with her fingers. Knowing that is one of her anxious traits, he shifts them so he can see her and begins to speak.

"What's going through that beautiful head of yours Hails?" Not sure how to reply as she doesn't want to make him feel worse than she knows he's already making himself; she tentatively asks him in an almost frightened tone "What happened with Knox and my dad? Did you find them? I don't think I'll be able to feel calm or safe if I know they are still free to attack me again!"

Jay answers his wife, with his heart breaking for her, in a reassuring tone trying to keep her calm tells her "We caught them when we found you, the rest of the unit arrested them while I was looking for and taking care of you, they're gone, you're safe."

Even though Hailey had heard Jay's words clearly, she still found herself working into a panic attack remembering what they told her when all of a sudden, she gasped out of nowhere
