"Is that the last of them" you breathe out tired from loading multiple bottles and cases of soda into Rodricks van, "yeah that's everything, damn this party's gonna be so fucking good" he says slightly out of breath from helping you. You roll your eyes disapproving of his whole plan to throw a party while his parents were, but you can't lie to yourself you are excited to go to a big high school party. You and him hop in the van , " I thought you weren't supposed to leave the house with being grounded and all" you jokingly ask "yeah I just told my mom I was out running stupid errands with you like going to the library or whatever and she let me go" he smiles at you, his response sends a warm feeling all over you, the rest of the drive is silent other than the blaring rock his radio until you reach his house. You help Rodrick hide the snacks and drinks in the back of van when you lift up a tarp to use "Holy shit" he turns to look at what your looking at, it's a whole lot of beer cases and hard liquor bottles, "Rodrick how the fuck did you get this" "Oh that, right, Chris's brother works at liquor store down the street all we gotta do is ask and he supplies" he opens up the beer case and pulls out two cans "my parents aren't home" he shakes them a bit trying to entice you in his offer to which you give in rolling your eyes taking a can from him cracking it open and taking a sip him doing the same. Before you know it the light tipsy feeling comes on as you finish the can Rodrick already finishing his. He leads you both into the almost empty house besides Greg audibly playing video games in this room and leads you upstairs to his room. He stumbles onto the bed pulling you on top incessantly giggling making you giggle along with him, eventually ceasing as you catch your breath you open your eyes to see his scanning every inch of your face landing directly on your eyes. You stare back at his pools of deep brown. "You're so beautiful" he says breaking the silence this catches you off guard "shut up" you retort breaking your gaze from his "no really" he pauses gently grabbing your face to look at you again "you're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen" all you do is stare at him with blank eyes feeling conflicted with his words "I gotta go it's getting late" you stutter out breaking eye contact and quickly getting up "oh... ok" he says concerned sitting up watching you gather your things "I'll see you later" you force a smile to reassure him and gives you one back "see ya then" you go and let yourself out. Your mind races as you walk home 'why did you just leave him like that I thought that's what you want? Don't you like him? Don't you want him to like you back?' You get home and slump up the stairs after greeting your mom in the kitchen making dinner. "Fuck" you sigh out closing the door behind you slumping all the way onto the floor 'I do like him, I think I like him a lot and I do want him to have the same feelings but I don't want to go through that pain again and I don't want him to get that pain'. You get up and walkover to your bed sinking into it feeling the physical and mental exhaustion wash over. You wrap yourself in the covers. They still smell like him. You breathe in deeply and smile to yourself. You smell like him. 'He called you beautiful, not pretty, not hot ; beautiful a word used to describe the magnificence of what the eyes can see and beyond that' You drift off to sleep with the only thought of him running rampant in you mind.
