Evan's p.o.v.

There's a smile on my face. Random, I know. Now, why would there be a smile on my face, especially since I'm in school? Maybe because...

*ring, ring*

"SCHOOL'S OUT!" Everyone yelled. Everyone ran out of their classes and to the front doors, but the kids in the front of the crowd stopped short causing each kid behind them to crash into one another. We all stopped because the principal and vice-principal were stood tall in front of the door. Why must we be here longer?

"Now kids, just because classes are shorter doesn't mean it's a half-day. You all need to receive a yearbook and go to the outer field for celebration." Mrs. Francis said. Seems too good to be true, honestly. They seemed too happy, but perhaps they were relieved they didn't have to deal with us for the few months that we are free. As everyone else rushed to the vice principal to get a yearbook, Mrs. Francis stopped me by the door. She stepped aside with me outside of the office. "Evan, I talked to your brothers' and they think it's a good idea if you get a counselor over the summer." She said.

"What? I don't need a counselor!" I protested.

"Well, it's your brothers' idea. So, take it up with them. You're not my problem anymore." She said.

"What about next year?" I asked.

"I'm retiring, so you're out of my life." She said and walked off.

I rolled my eyes and walked back to get a yearbook. When came out of the office with a yearbook in hand, I saw Drake down the hall. He was, of course, hitting on girls. Drake said something and I heard high-pitched giggles. I rolled my eyes as I walked closer to him. I tapped his arm which caused him to look down at me and then he ignored me. I smirked a bit as I opened my mouth, "Hey, didn't you just bang a girl last period, and then a girl before that?" I said. The girls each slapped him and rolled their eyes before walking off.

"What the fuck?" He said, finally giving me his attention.

"You guys want me to get a counselor!?" I asked through gritted teeth.

"Yeah. Well, it was more Michael and Chad's idea." Drake said and ran off after seeing a girl wearing short shorts. I rolled my eyes again. I suppose I can understand why. I did tear my arms apart which are now wrapped in bandages hidden under the sleeves of my sweatshirt, but I don't remember why I did it. I honestly don't remember much of that day. I walked outside to look for Gavin, but ran into someone I wish I didn't.

"Hey Wolfy, going to miss us?" Ratliff asked.

"Nope!" I said and walked away from them quickly. That went better than I thought it would. I found Gavin signing someone's yearbook. I snuck up behind him and started singing, "Well we got no choice. All the girls and boys, makin' all that noise, 'cause they found new toys. Well we can't salute ya, Can't find a flag. If that don't suit ya, That's a drag..."

Gavin caught on and started singing the chorus with me, "Schools out for summer. Schools out forever. Schools blown to pieces..."

A familiar voice jumped into the song, "No more pencils. No more books. No more teachers' dirty looks." We turned around to see my nerdy brother, Todd who imitated a guitar with his voice after.
