Devon's p.o.v.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" I heard people scream. I groaned as I opened my eyes. As I sat up, my eyes landed on my sister and all my brothers who stood around my bed. I sat up and a small smile crept on my face. "Morning! Happy birthday!" Michael smiled.

"Morning." I responded. "Why are you all in my room?" I asked with a small grin on my lips.

"Because it's your birthday!" Todd smiled.

"It's our room too!" Both Jordan and Seth commented. Yeah, even at the beach house, despite there being so many rooms, I still had to share. I also didn't care for the walls all being an off white color while the floors remained hardwood, but in different colors per room. I.E. The living room was dark brown, but the smoothed planks were in a diagonal pattern, the bathrooms were a gray-white, but were larger planks, the hallways were a black almost. Honestly, it wasn't too different from our house back home, except our living room had carpet.

I rolled my eyes at them and Evan sat on my lap. "Hello!" She greeted in a cutesy manner.

"Get off." I said in a warning tone. There goes my smile.

She made her bottom lip quiver. "I know it's your birthday so can we please not fight?"

I looked at her as she gave me her famous puppy-dog look. I sarcastically smiled before responding, "I won't have to worry about fighting with you, 'cause you're gonna leave me alone." And with that said, I got up and she slid off my lap and onto the ground. I looked down at her and she sat there, pouting. I then looked up at Michael before reaching for my shirt.

Michael gave me a warning look as he picked her up. "I know it's your birthday, but that doesn't mean you have to be a dick." He warned.

I rolled my eyes as I slipped my shirt on. I then nodded and went to the bathroom attached to mine, Seth, and Jordan's room. I heard everyone shuffle out of my room as I got ready. I took a quick shower then dressed in dark blue jeans that were more on the skinnier side and then slipped on a thinly stripped, brown button-up. After leaving the bathroom, I slipped some socks on then my beaten-up converse. I brushed my hair then ruffled it so that it was somewhat spiky, but more on the shaggy side. I then headed downstairs. I went to the kitchen and sat at the kitchen island with a bowl of cereal. Then the doorbell rang. "Door!" I yelled before shoving more cereal in my mouth. No one answered. "Door!" Again, no one answered. "Assholes..." I muttered and got up to answer the door after shoving another spoonful of Coco Puffs into my mouth. I opened the door to see Benny. "Michael, your fuck boy's here!" I yelled up the stairs.

Benny frowned slightly. "Why can't we just be friends? You know, like we were."

"Benny, you're dating my older brother! You told me you liked him since- Fuck, I don't even know." I said. "How do I know you weren't just using me?"

"Devon, you're my best friend! Please! You were my friend before I liked your brother! What do I have to do to prove that?" Benny asked.

"Break up with my brother." I said with a shrug as I my way to the kitchen, but stopped in the living room and faced him. Yes, I was beyond angry with the situation, but I can't stop them from dating who they want. It just grosses me out, more than anything. I do still love Benny and he is still my best friend. It would take a lot for him to do something that would make me end the many years of friendship we had under our belts.
