Time skip to Annabeth leaving to the Grand Canyon
Lily's POV
"Can I please come with you?" I've been begging Annabeth and Butch to let me come with them for about two hours now. They are going somewhere to get a clue about where Percy has gone and won't let me join them; something about not knowing what the clue is and what might be waiting for them. "He's my brother, Annie, please just let me come with you."
She sighs. "Lily, we've spoken about this. We don't know what'll be there. All we know is that there is something that will lead us to Percy." I go to say something, "And if you ask us one more time if you can with us, I will call Will and –"
"Okay, okay I get it. Stay here, wait until you get back." I hate it when she says that she'll call Will. He may be 14 years old and a literal ray of sunshine, but he can be scary when he wants to. I watch as she and Butch climb into the chariot, "see you when we get back, and make sure the camp doesn't get destroyed or anything while we're gone," and the Pegasi fly off, taking them to Zeus knows where. Time to go sit at the canoe lake like I have done every day for the past 3 days.
Everyone says that he left, that he went back to the mortal world, but Percy wouldn't leave without telling me or taking me with him. So, I know something is wrong. But they keep denying it. Keep saying, "He'll come back soon," and "he's probably with his mom, he's fine," but I can see through their lies. I know someone has taken him; I just don't know who. These thoughts swirl though my mind as I lay down in the grass staring at the sunset. Time to do nothing except lay here and wonder where Percy is.
I haven't even thought about Jason since the battle at Mount Tam a few months ago, but now that I am alone, now that I have nothing to do, our fight is starting to come back to me.
"Jason, I don't know if I can trust you enough to tell you."
"I saved you several times during that battle, so you would be dead without me. If you couldn't trust me, I would've let you die. So, you can trust me."
"Jason. I can't tell you."
"Why not? You say you can't trust me, now you can't tell me. What is going on, how did he know you?"
"Jason I – "
"Lily just tell me what is goi –"
"I CAN'T JASON, OKAY?"
Our argument going through my head, I curl up, and tears stream down my face as I try my best to not make a sound. I don't remember closing my eyes, but I hear campers shouting that Annabeth's back, and I jolt awake. I must've fallen asleep for a few hours. I quickly push myself off the floor and run over to where Annabeth, Butch and three other teens are getting dried off. I notice the blond hair, purple shirt, but don't think anything about why its familiar as I run to Annabeth. "Did you find him, what happened? And who are – " I ask, turning around to look at the new kids, and freeze. It's him.
Jason's POV
Me, Piper and Leo climb out of the lake, and are immediately dried off with huge blow-dryers. After that is over, I look around and notice a lot of people, all wearing armour or carrying swords. Where are we? What is this place? I am about to approach Annabeth, I think her name is, and ask her, when someone pushes through the crowd and starts asking her something, "Did you find him, what happened? And who are – " The girl turns around and we lock eyes. Why is she so famili– wait. Lily? "Jason is that you?" and the memories of fighting a titan with her and no one else come back to me. "Hi, Lily. Nice to see you again. Listen, about what I said, I –" I don't get to finish as she walks over and wraps her arms around me, pulling me in. "Its so good to see you again." I smile, and softly return the hug.
"I'm sorry. You two know each other?"
