Lily's POV
We are all sat in the sewage system, Leo and Piper are cooking tacos at a fire Leo started, and me and Jason are sat together talking. "It wasn't your fault. Back with the Cyclops."
"I know. I just feel like I should have known that they were there, or I should have tried to fight them. They nearly killed you, and I couldn't do anything about it."
"Jason, I'm fine, okay? You can't protect everyone at the same time. You can't put all that pressure on your shoulders, and besides, you said it yourself: we're in this together. So you don't have to do this alone, all three of us are here for you."
"Thanks, Lily. What would I do without you?"
"You won't ever have to find out. Because I will always be here for you, no matter what," I rest my head on his shoulder. "Remember?"
"Yeah, I remember. About why I called you princess earlier, I –"
"And food is ready from your chefs Piper and Leo!" Leo walks over with two plates of food, Piper following behind with plates for her and Leo, and they both sit down with us. Leo passes me and Jason a plate, and we all start eating the tacos.
"So, what were you two talking about, then?" Piper asks us, but before I can reply, Jason says, "Nothing. Just plans for where we go next."
Jason's POV
I don't want to tell them that I was going to tell Lily how I feel about her, especially Leo. I wouldn't hear the end of it, and I would have to admit that he's right. I'm in denial.
"Jason you okay?" Piper asks me.
"Oh, yeah. Just lost in thought."
"Okay... so where do we go now?"
"Let's rest for a while, we've been going nonstop for a day now." I say that, and Piper rests her head on Leo's shoulder, falling asleep instantly. "Get some sleep, we'll wake you up if something happens," I tell Lily, and she nods, lays down with her head on my lap, and falls asleep.
"I'm serious, you like her," Leo watches as I move her hair out of her face.
"So what if I am? She doesn't see me like that."
"You are so oblivious to it aren't you?"
"Oblivious, Leo? Oblivious to what?"
"She likes you, dude. It's obvious."
Lily's POV
I resist the urge to smile. So that's what he was going to say before they interrupted? He likes me? I actually fall asleep while Jason gently brushes his fingers through my hair, and I find myself in the ruins again.
I look into the cage and see someone in there. "Who are you? What is this place?"
"Hello, Lily. This place is where Porphyrion is keeping me."
"Hera? Why is this the place? Ruins, seriously?"
"This place is special to demigods. Not to the ones you know, to different demigods."
"The demigods that were at the mountain. They're Roman demigods aren't they?"
"I can't tell you that. What I can tell you is that I made a gamble and sent Jason to your camp without his memories. It was an exchange of leaders, for the two camps to learn of each other's existence. The camps trusting each other is key if you are to win against what is coming."
"What is that, what's coming?"
"You must go. And remember, you can't trust her."
"What? Who can I not trust? HERA?"
