Okay, so.... I got pregnant... again.
Not complaining.
I just didn't think that I'd be ovulating so soon...
Anyway...
The new house is huge!
We moved the piano from the old house too.
Remember that couple who jokingly reached for the car when we were at the hotel?
The two grizzly bears, Brenda and John Morgan... sorry for not giving their names, then, but I wasn't sure if they were okay with that at the time.
Yeah, um... They're professional power lifters.
Who knew? Not us.
The two of them lifted a Steinway concert grand piano, on a special support frame built by Brent, and carried it onto our trailer.
That didn't surprise us.
What surprised us was...
"We thought you said it was extremely heavy." Brenda said it casually, like it was nothing to move a 1,400 pound instrument on a 340 pound frame.
"If you think about it, the two of us only lifted 870lbs each. That's less than our regular workout routine as we usually warm up with 400lb tungsten dumbells and we curl and press 1,300lb barbells by the end of it." John said.
"You guys are roughly nine foot tall F-1 bear morphs.
Now that I think about it, lifting that piano isn't so surprising anymore." Brent said.
I ended up disillusioned as well.
Anyway, with the massive couple back home at the hotel, we returned.
We retrieved our brats as soon as we finished... um... inspecting the wall!
They weren't left at the other house.
Holly loves the piano and Brent is actually pretty decent now.
Still improving but, at least he's able to play the minute waltz, Moonlit sonata, every piece from every Nintendo game he's ever liked, etc...
I've heard professionnal piano music so, maybe I'm being too biased?
He has played the glass piano in the city music hall and people were leaving silver and gold in a bucket that a kid snuck behind the piano bench.
Turns out, the kid was hoping that Brent would mess up when he heard the metal rattling and pinging as people dropped it.
He never missed a beat.
Come to think of it, the floor where the piano now sits has more posts under it, in the ground.
He planned the house around where he wanted the piano to go and it's perfectly placed. I can't see anywhere else that it wouldn't be in the way.
Easy to get around, relatively out of the way and nowhere that I'd not want it.
Oh, after that, he built two rooms at the other end but, remember how I said that the walls were twelve feet high?
I was wrong.
I had guessed at 12, but they're actually 15 feet, exactly.
When he built the rooms, they were off of the floor by six feet, two inches from the floor to the bottoms of the rooms' joist frames.
The rooms' walls are seven feet six inches high.
3 inch thick ceilings and floors, ten inch thick joists, three inch floors below the rooms.
