It was the morning of the martial arts tournament!

I got up, did the usual...

Ate breakfast and got ready.

I was so excited!

When we arrived, I checked in.

"Name?" The receptionist asked, looking to my father.

"Josie Carter." I said, smiling.

"Wait. You are competing?" She asked.

"Yes."

She shook her head.

"Martial art style?"

I looked at my dad.

"Judo, Aïkido and Ken'po." He said.

"Okay. Judo and Aïkido, I get, but you can't get me to believe that any morph knows a lost Eastern martial art style, especially not a ferret." She said with heavy disdain.

"Let me guess. You think that ferrets are too hyper and that they can't be taught to fight." My dad accused.

"It's more than just a thought if it's true, sir!" She sneered.

"Alright, fine. You'll be watching the event anyway, bet me." He said.

"How much?" She held out her hand.

"Fifty silver coins." He said, taking her hand in his.

The weasel laughed.

"My name is Zheorja Brandford.

I'll raise that multiplied by ten times at five gold." She grinned wickedly.

She wrote my information and gave me a forest green leather wristband that had "12" embroidered in gold thread.

I thanked her and went to the stands with my family.

Of course...

People staring at us instead of...

Oh. Nothing is happening yet...

A hyena morph walked out onto the stage.

*Present Mic's voice and inflections*

"Llllladehs and gentlemeeeen!

Welcoome to the thirtieth annual martial arts championshiiip!

Today, combattants will fight for a cash prize to the tune of.... is this right?" He asked, having pulled away the microphone.

He must've been told that it was.

Holding up three fingers and his thumb, he looked up and held the microphone above him.

"fō thousand gawld!!!" He screamed.

He kept talking as he looked around.

"The combat lineup will be brought to you shortly.

Meanwhile, we have royalty here!

Darrel Carter and... family?

Well! Looks like the anti-human human co-founder of the city finally got hitched!

Let's give'em a round!" He shouted and the audience clapped and cheered.

It felt like it would never stop.

Looking at my mother, she seemed... very proud...

Well, if she isn't bothered, neither am I...

"Anyway... while we wait for the board.
