Well, Brent definitely did what he said.
He laid down and slept for almost the entire day and into the next morning.
I felt as though he didn't really get to enjoy the break so, I ask if he wants to take Holly shopping...
You know, since he is the only one between the two of us who can understand her until she learns to speak.
That actually a convenient and accurate reason to use right now...
He agrees and we take my Crestwood Skylance station wagon.
"Dad says that a new store opened in the city." I tell him as I drive.
"Oh?" Brent asks, actually interested.
"Yep, it's child specific, though he says that it reminds him of a department store but, one full of toys, games and other things."
"Hah! Toys'R'us is back!" He laughs.
"Wait a minute. What do you mean by that?"
"Toys'R'us was exactly what you just described.
Okay, remember what I told you about the internet and online shopping?" He asks, looking at me.
I nod.
"Well, online shopping ruined businesses like RadioShack and Toys'R'us due to convenience and price points.
Now that there is no internet, businesses like that are making a comeback without people even being able to appreciate just how ironic it is."
"How can we keep the internet from coming back?" I ask.
"That's easy.
We raise our kids to understand the devastating impact of such technology and release them into the world."
"That won't be enough.
We need a school..."
"I'm game, let's do it."
"What, start a school?" I ask.
"What else?
People need to understand history in order not to repeat it.
Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini.
All three of them were Socialists.
The unibomber, ruby ridge, Waco Texas massacre, The Bundy Standoff of Nevada.
All of them could have been avoided if government never existed.
None of it would have happened without there having been a structure of societal authority.
Don't get me wrong, the agencies were sent to scope the people out but, shooting a child at Ruby Ridge is what started the man shooting at the agents.
In the words of one side of a famous argument: Hân Solo shot first.
There will always be people who dispise authority but, no one despises liberty more than Socialists and they'll always promise more liberty as they rib you of it little by little.
What kind of people sent the orders to shoot to those agencies?
Socialists.
Children don't need to be taught politics, they need to be taught to have a sense about them of what is right and what is wrong.
Politics teaches people how to manipulate and control people.
We need to make sure that political structure never becomes anything more than a history lesson of what not to do.
