Also another reminder money in Pokémon or in this world works very differently then how money works irl. For example a pokeball is $20 and the price will continue going up so if you're saying that I'm making the main character insanely rich then don't because you're very wrong. It's quite the opposite actually.

I'm almost at Rustboro City. As of now Torchic is much stronger. (lvl. 15) Suddenly a poster caught my attention. It said "fishing competition, enter now" but what really caught my attention were the prizes.

3rd place was $100, 2nd place was $500 and a premier bottlecap (worth like 6k) and 1st place was a whopping $1.5k, a water type pokémon, and a luxurious bottlecap!! (Worth over 10k at minimum but depends on who you're selling. It can also max out a single Stat of a Pokémon if used for that purpose.)

The prizes were too good and I had a knack for fishing and I was actually quite good as well.

Man if there were ranks in fishing then I'd say I'm the highest rank there would be hah.

The event was tomorrow though so I just went to the Pokécenter in Rustboro, took a shower, and then took a nice & long nap because I mean like c'mon everybody needs their beauty sleep.

1 Day later

The fishing competition went great, me and torchic had a lot of fun! I caught a whole bucket of fish (not surprisingly) But now it was time to declare the winners.

Thomas Patterson or Mr. Thomas organized this whole event and ofcourse he was one of the three judges.

There was also the Rustboro City Gym Leader, and another gentleman who I didn't know.

"Beeeep beeep beep beeeep" The mic static kicked in. This meant the judges were about to start speaking.

I grew nervous as I wondered if I had been selected as any of the top 3.

I heard a guy say "hah I already know I'm 1st or 2nd. I'm just too good for all you other losers."

Wait a minute... that's not any guy.

THATS FUBUKI!!

"Wait... Fubuki?? You entered this competition too?" I asked.

"AHH" He screamed as if he just got the jumpscare of his life.

"Oh... hey Kai. What's up dude? I didn't expect to run into you here of all places. Lemme guess, you're also here for the Rustboro City gym badge??"

"Yea-" I was cut off by Fubuki

"Well too bad because I'm gonna get it first. Just like how I'm gonna win this competition.

"Umm no."

"What? What do you mean no???"

"It doesn't work like that. Everybody gets a badge if they can defeat the gym leader."
