It's been a few days since the fishing competition. Torchic has gotten a bit stronger but without further ado, it's time to challenge the Rustboro gym, with our immersive squad if two.
Hey maybe it's not that impressive but I'm gettin' there.
Plus, two pokemon is all I need to beat the Rustboro rock type gym.
At The Gym
I finally made it to the gym.
Then as I pushed the door open, I saw a battlefield with a man standing on the other side. However this man wasn't the gym leader and and I knew this because the actual gym leader was present at the fishing competition as one of the judges.
Then the man moved aside, revealing a girl behind him.
"My name is Roxanne, and welcome to my- wait a second... you're that boy from the fishing competition, aren't you?" Roxanne asked me.
"Yep, I was 1st place" I replied with a bit of pride.
"Wow what a coincidence, both the first and second place winners of the competition both came to my gym. And on the same day too!" She said back.
"Wait... you mean to tell me that Fubuki was already here?" I asked.
"Yup" she replied.
"Well .. did he win?!"
"Umm... yea" she said a little bit embarrassed. I could see her cheeks turning a bit red.
"Oh ... Wow! He must be very strong now. I have to train harder to beat him" I said.
"Ok well... anyways, time for our match" she said.
"Let me give you a proper introduction. My name is Roxanne, and I am the gym leader. Though I figure you already know that... anyways. I specialize in rock type Pokémon."
After Roxanne's introduction, the man standing there beside her came to the middle of the field.
"This is an official gym battle, Roxanne our prestigious gym leader versus the challenger - pssst, hey who are you??" The ref asked me.
"I'm Kai, Kai Mizuko from Littleroot Town!" I said back to the referee.
"-the challenger, Kai Mizuko is about to commence! Only the challenger is allowed to make substitutions. Trainers please send out your first Pokémon!!"
"Go Geodude!" Said Roxanne.
Geodude looked quite menacing so I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous.
"Go Torchic!" I said.
Even though Torchic was at a type disadvantage, I had a trick up my sleeve.
Geodude attacked first with a rollout called by Roxanne but Torchic dodged it and used Ember which barely did anything.
Then Geodude, before Torchic could even react, used Rock Slide, trapping Torchic in a pile of rocks.
I had no idea what to do but then it hit me. Not literally, I just had a great idea.
