Huge News: Guys the 2nd picture in this book HAS OFFICIALLY ARRIVED!! It's in Chapter 1, so go check that out if you want to. I focused a bit more on the Pokémon Art style. Anyway, happy reading!
The smoke from the explosion slowly cleared revealing two figures.
An orange figure and a slightly taller green figure.
That's Combusken and Sceptile...
"Uh..." Fubuki said.
"Is the battle still on?" Fubuki asked me.
"I don't think so.." I said, a bit unsure.
Then... the smoke faded away completely, allowing us to see both Combusken and Sceptile standing together, side by side.
"Combusken are you-" Before I could finish my sentence, Combusken fell, on the ground and fainted on the spot.
Goddangit!
"Combusken, are you alright?" I asked.
No response.
"I guess that's means I win the battle.." Fubuki said.
"I... guess so" I replied with a frown on my face.
Combusken looks tired... like extremely tired...
"Rest up buddy, you did good." I said to Combusken as I returned him in his Pokéball.
"Hey don't be sad, it was a tight match... honestly anyone could've won..." Fubuki said, trying to cheer me up.
"Sad? Oh no that's crazy! I'm not sad at all! Instead, I'm gonna go win my 2nd gym badge bro!" I said in a fake confident voice.
"Awesome! Alright then, Imma dip now, cya later!"
"Peace Out!" I said as I formed a V with two of my fingers and saluted at him.
"Peace!" He said loudly as he walked away, mimicking the same pose with his fingers that I had done before.
Just as he walked off into the distance and I was going to start walking towards the Dewford Pokécenter, I saw her. It was Hannah, sprinting towards me.
I waved, thinking she would see it... but she didn't.
She approached me soon after.
"Hey!" She said with quite a bit of enthusiasm in her voice.
"Hey." I replied plainly.
"Soo... how did it go?" She asked with even more enthusiasm. I really didn't want to break in the bad news.
"Bad." I replied plainly.
"Oh... that's not good..." She said, most of the enthusiasm draining out of her tone.
"I-I lost." I replied plainly. I didn't have to patience to wait for her to ask the question right now. I needed to just rest for a bit.
"Oh um... so.. are you still going to fight the Dewford Gym? No offense of course!!" She asked me. She added that last bit really quickly.
"None taken." I replied even though inside I was a bit annoyed that she said that. But I probably shouldn't be. I knew she didn't mean it. But I'm doubting myself now.
Can I even defeat the Dewford Gym...
NO! No more negative thinking, or it's going to be my downfall. Gotta stay positive. And so what if I do lose. I'll just lose a bit of pride and try again. Nothing worse.
