Chapter three

Tony

Leo fell asleep in my arms not too after taking the infant formula I made him. Luckily for me, there were instructions on the pack to direct me how to make it.

On the other hand, Luna was sitting on the suede couch in the living room where we were, playing with her doll like there was nothing to else in the world. She loved that doll so much, it was my gift for her on her fifth birthday three months ago.

Since I had a little time, I decided to call Amy.
'The number you're trying to call is unreachable'.
That was what I heard on the other side of the phone.
I tried severally with no results. I was getting really upset. I carefully laid Leo on the couch and guarded him with pillows.

I went upstairs to check if her things we still there. I opened the door and headed for her wardrobe. When I opened it, I only saw a few clothes hanger, no clothes! And then, there was a note. That's strange. I took it to find out the content. It read..

Hi Tony!
You reading this means you know that I'm gone. I've gone far, don't bother looking for me.
I'm sick and tired of everything! I'm nothing actually, but look at you, you're a lawyer, a good one at that.
I'm sorry I had to leave the kids, please take care of them. I love them with all my heart. I love you too, but the way you treat me makes me feel like you don't love me.
I'm tired of living in this house with you, every moment I spend is torture to me.
I have to go and get a life.
If it's my fate to come back, I will, someday.

I froze in place for about ten seconds. My blood was boiling, why did she have to leave without telling me?
And the kids, how do I balance working and taking care of them?
I clenched my fists in anger, and next thing I heard was Leo's voice, crying from downstairs.

I quickly descended the stairs to meet my son. On getting there, my eyes widened and my heart raced. Leo was on the floor, apparently, the pillows didn't hold him. And then Luna was also on the floor, sleeping. 'Weird', I thought. I carried Leo and tried to console him, and I went in Luna's direction. I tapped her but she wasn't responding.

"Luna!" I said, shaking her with my right hand as I held Leo in my left.
Fear gripped me when I realized she was unconscious.
"Luna! Luna!!!". I screamed
