Chapter six

Rose

"Come in!" I responded as I heard a soft knock on my door and ended the phone call I was having.
The door squeaked open as I saw Tony, my only brother.

"Good afternoon sis". He greeted as he sat on the chair opposite mine, my office table in between.

"Good afternoon Tony! It's been a while since I last saw you". I said, but I noticed he looked worried.
"You don't look so good, are you okay though?"

He glanced at me at then stared at the floor, looking so confused.

"Hello!" I said almost shouting as I snapped my fingers at him.
He looked back at me and started talking.

"My kids are here actually. Luna is in the emergency room, and Leo is also here, he's fine though. And lastly, Amy has left us". He said with a sober look on his face.

I laughed hypothetically for a few seconds.
"That's a funny joke, now seriously what's happening?"

"I'm not joking! I woke up this morning, and I noticed Amy's absence, then I found a note she wrote. And then I later discovered that Luna was unconscious. It's been a rough day sis!" He complained as he rubbed his temple.
"So I brought Luna here, and the nurses told me she'll be okay"

"Wait a minute, have you given Luna her drugs today?" I asked as my suspicious awakened.

"Drugs? Ohhh....her drugs!" He said as he slapped his forehead.

"Luna needs her drugs daily to improve her condition. She doesn't have just any kind of Leukemia, she has Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. Not giving her drugs even for one day can be very consequential". I told him.

"I completely forgot. I mean it has always been Amy's job to give Luna her drugs"

"Speaking of Amy, you said she left?

"Yes, and I don't..." He didn't get to finish his sentence before we heard a knock on my door.

"Come in". I announced.

Emma and Beatrice walked into my office, my two favorite nurses.

"Good day ma". They greeted simultaneously.

I nodded in response. Beatrice was carrying someone that looked like Tony's son.

"Mr Tony, Luna is awake now, she's absolutely fine, you can come and see her when you're ready". Emma said to Tony as his face instantly lit up.

"Ohh thank you!". He replied and turned to Beatrice.
"Do you want to give him to me?". He asked her. Yeah that's definitely Leo she was holding.

"Yes. My shift is over, and I'll be going home soon". Beatrice replied as she handed Leo over to Tony. Leo giggled sweetly, exposing his two tiny teeth sprouting from his lower gum.

"Thank you Beatrice, and thank you too". He said to the two nurses and they exited my office.

"How did they know I was here?". Tony asked me.

"They know you're my brother, so they probably guessed". I explained.
"Tony, we have a lot to talk about, but I think we should go see Luna first".
