I heard a notification sound on my phone and I checked what it was. Apparently, Tony sent me a text. It read..

Hi sis,
Something happened recently, I don't know how to explain. Dad kicked me out of the house because...🤦
You know I just got admission, and I cannot forfeit it.
I know you're not in town, but please I would want you to come and see me.
Please respond, so I can send you the address.
Thank you so much, I love you.

I was so confused at this point. Why would dad kicked Tony out of the house?

I tried calling both my parent's phone, none of them picked up.

I texted Tony back and he sent me the address. It was in the same town that my parents lived, just that the houses were at both ends of the town.

It was a good thing that it was a Saturday, I was off duty.

I had to inform my husband I was leaving for another town.

I stood up from the bed where I was, and left our room. I went downstairs and outside to the porch, where my husband, Felix, and his friend, Derek sat and played chess

"Dr Mrs Smith!". Derek hailed me.
"Your smoothie was very nice!". He said as he took a sip of the chocolate banana smoothie I made for the both of them.

Derek has been somewhat annoying, always coming to the house to eat all our food. But he was a very good friend of Felix, they've been together since first year of college.

"Thank you!"  I smiled at him and turned to Felix.

I moved towards Felix and whispered to his ears. "Can we talk?".

"Sure!". He said with the warmest smile.

"Excuse us for a second, would ya?". I said to Derek. He rolled his eyes and continues sipping on the smoothie.

"Don't keeping me waiting, lovebirds". He said and winked at Tony.

Tony stood up and walked with me to the side of the house, where we had a little privacy.

"Umm, I needed to go see my brother, my dad kicked him out of the house, he didn't tell me why. I promise I'll be back soon".

"It's okay, just call me when you get there". He responded

"Awwwn, thank you so much! I love you!". And them we had a nice warm hug.

I rushed back to the room, dressed up, and took my car keys. I went outside and saw that they were done with the smoothie glasses, so I had to return them to the kitchen. And it seems like Felix won the chess game, as usual.

I pecked my husband's cheek. "See you guys later". I said to them
"And Derek, sorry for your loss". I mocked him jokingly and we all laughed.

"Drive safe baby". My husband said. I nodded with a smile.

I drove off to Tony's address, a different town from mine, but not too far away.
