Mrs Rebecca Williams

I let the kettle hiss for about thirty seconds before I poured the hot water into the coffee mug.
It was 7:30am already, which meant it was time to make coffee for my husband. He loves taking Malloy, his favorite coffee brand on Saturday mornings.

I opened a sachet of coffee and put it in his coffee mug, which I stirred afterwards. I then took a saucer out of the cupboard and carried the coffee mug.

I exited the kitchen and walked through the hallway that lead to the sitting room where my husband was sitting. Mr Larry Williams sat on the couch opposite the TV and stared at it with so much interest. He was probably watching something about politics.

Fear engulfed me as I walked towards him with his coffee in my hand. I've been wanting to have a conversation with him for a few days but i was certain he wouldn't take it easy. Telling him about Tony always aroused his anger.

I walked towards him and smiled.
"Here's your coffee!", I said as I gave the cup to him.
I sat beside him and exhaled loudly. He glanced at me from the brim of his glasses and took a sip of the coffee
"I.... umm...I....wanted to..." I hesitated telling him.
I recalled the last time we had that conversation and it didn't end well.
Meanwhile, I noticed he was staring at me  with an inquisitive look on his face.

I surmoned courage and spoke
"I think it's high time we go and see our son", I said as his staring quickly turned to glaring.
"Look woman, I don't want anything to do with Tony, okay?" He snapped back as he turned back to look at the TV, sipping his coffee

"But he's still our son, he's our flesh and..."
I heard the sound of his hand hitting the table in anger before I could finish my sentence.
"ENOUGH!!!, I don't want to repeat myself!!!" Larry has always been hot headed, which is annoying most of the time.

"it's been six years, can't you just forgive him?" I said as I sobbed lightly." Please!" I said almost screaming, as my sobbing intensified.
Larry looked touched, and his anger calmed a bit.
"Just forget you ever had a son, it's easier that way" Larry said finally as he left his coffee unfinished on the side stool and went upstairs to his room.

I don't know how to convince him now, he is always too stubborn and keeps to his word, not taking into consideration who it affects. I just have to find a way.
