The world around me is burning. Bullets zip about like whispers of death. Smoke impregnates the air hiding the heavens behind it's black veil.

My knuckles pop as I grip the bloody bone tighter. I killed her. No, he made me kill her. She sacrificed herself for us. I don't know what to think of it, or maybe I do. I killed her. I'm a killer. I'm a murderer.

My body moves on it's own, like it's guided toward a target. It's not that I've lost control. My emotions are guiding me. What I do when I reach the destination is my choice.

"Morado, I'm going to beg you."

"What if I can't do it?"

"Morado, I'm begging you now, Zoey would want this."

"Carmen I-," I run my hand against her soft cheek and she leans into it.

"Morado, I'm not your only Pal, I know you're in pain for the others, what if he asks you to sacrifice Moon?"

"Carmen, I'm afraid."

"Morado, in truth, I hate this world, it's filthy and rotten, I want you to take me from it."

"Why do you want to die?"

"I don't, I just don't want to live here."

"Carmen, I miss her, I miss Zoey."

Carmen leans up pressing her paws against my chest. She smiles a little before a cold darkness fills her eyes.

"Even with a thousand nightmares of you hurting her, she was always happy when you didn't," Carmen says rubbing her wet nose against me.

"I don't know what that means," I reply petting her head.

"The game has grown old, possibilities cut short, nothing new to be learned, Morado, just trust me, this has to be done," Carmen says pouting.

I try to comfort her as she sobs in my lap. She's usually so high and mighty like royalty. It's almost cute how she carries herself. That just makes this more difficult to bare.

The sound of gunfire muffles the screams, but I still hear them.

I swing the bone at Axel as he tries to crawl back across the ground. Carmen's teeth dig deep splitting his hand between the middle and ring fingers. Blood sprays into the air as I cut through the palm of his hand.

"Fuck!" He yells grabbing his wrist as a crimson river runs down his forearm.

I catch it out of the corner of my eye. A bolt of lightning sizzles through the air toward my right cheek. I'm so focused it seems like seconds before it will reach me. I tilt my head back and the bolt passes me crackling through the air.
