CHAPTER SEVEN 💀

It took almost an hour before Elena saw Bryan return with Becky but without Enzo as Bryan had told him he was called.

She waited in the ward with Ethan as the boy had suddenly passed out a few minutes before Bryan left to take care of Enzo.

As Elena had found out, Enzo isn't exactly injured from any kind of illness and more surprisingly, they had warned her to stay away from Ethan's bed no matter what.

Confused was an understatement for what she was feeling right now but she was determined to bury that deep in her head until the whole thing cleared up.

Neither Bryan nor Becky said a word when they returned but Becky had anxiously rushed to the television and turned it on with shaky hands and went directly to the news channel.

"As informed by the hunter association, the treaty signed with the spirit world had been officially canceled and a possible war could break out, we advice anyone with any association with these beings to stop any form of contact with them as this is a sigh of implications, the hunters are working on destroying the barrier and we shall wedge full war against them for this unspeakable killing spree one of their kind had done" the newscaster read.

The remote fell from Becky's hand and she turned around to look at her brother's sore expression.

It has come to the worst, they will really have to leave the human world and a possible war has just broken loose.

"Those creatures deserve everything our government is going to do to them, whatever that being was, it has completely eradicated an entire city" Elena's voice dripped with venom and anger.

"As if the humans are any better, none of that would have happened if they hadn't provoked me and woke me up untimely" a new strange voice suddenly sounded and it took them a few seconds to realize it was actually Ethan who had woken up without their notice.

"What are you saying Ethan, don't say anything crazy right now" Becky's voice was shaky.

There's no coincidence in the spiritual world and with what Ethan had just said, she was.. she was scared wherever had gotten into Ethan during the ritual was the cause of these disasters, she's scared to even think about that. But, that could possibly be the explanation for why he had suddenly disappeared only to be brought back. 

"Yes, what's that about Ethan, what are you trying to say?" Elena glared at her little brother but the boy, unlike before, glared back.

"The ritual wasn't supposed to be done, someone with so much resentment shouldn't have even been alive but of course he is, his soul is so tainted, they forced me awake, an opportunity to feast, how can I let that go" he laughed, his voice sending chills into their bodies.

Elena watched in horror as her brother spoke, completely unlike himself , she would have screamed that this isn't her brother if not for the face.

"What exactly happened to Ethan" she turned around slowly to ask them, she knew they had told her something else before she had gone into a state of shock, there's a possibility they didn't exactly tell her the truth to avoid another shock from her.

"Common, tell her, the mortal is curious " Ethan sneered and Elena was even more determined.

"Becky, go ahead first, help dad and mom get ready, we need to leave before the war becomes full fledged" he said and gently pulled Elena out of the ward.

What Becky had made known to him and already made him realize there's no need to stay here to keep an eye on Ethan.
Whatever had occupied his body is something they can't deal with, that's for sure.

And he would definitely be able to leave if he wanted to, so there's no need to tell him not to leave.

Becky didn't argue with her brother and left the ward after casting a glance at Ethan but his words before she left shocked her.

"Whatever was your connection with the former soul, you better thank it or else you would have been dead without it" he had said so coldly.

Bryan didn't bother to hide anything from Elena anymore, he told her everything that happened to Ethan and their theory about that.

Elena had broken down in-between and Bryan, knowing there's a chance they might not see each other again had also come clean about not being human, this was a rollercoaster of shocks for poor Elena.

He didn't hide the fact that the war would be dangerous and they had to leave immediately and more importantly, he practically begged Elena to move into his soon to be former mansion as that would provide them a safe place during the war.

No one spirit would attack the mansion because of his father's aura, a very old angelic being, a part of the light being.

Elena was forced to accept reality when Bryan indeed showed her his gigantic white wings.

The hardest to come to terms with for Elena was definitely the fact that her little brother is probably forever gone.

"You can go home to your mom, I will prepare tge mansion for you before leaving and probably help you settle down if there's still time. '' He ended the whole discussion with that and turned around to leave.

Something told him to properly say a goodbye to her, he might die or survive, he won't be able to live a great life without his mate either way, he wanted to tell her this but he didn't, he hid the most important part of why he had always loved her from her and walked away.

Elena had watched him walk away and after some more breakdown, she finally stood up, she went back to the ward to say a goodbye to Ethan .

"Hy" she said cautiously when she walked into the ward and Ethan didn't even bother to reply.

"Is he really gone?" She asked after many struggles "no, why else do you think I didn't kill you guys immediately, he seems to have forgotten we have always been one, simply because our souls were separated centuries ago doesn't change that" he said irritatedly.

"What does that mean?" She asked confused,"Poor thing, ask your father if you managed to see that bastard again, " he said casually.

"Our.. my dad is dead '' she said "no, that thing isn't dead, he's my anchor into the human world centuries ago, I would have returned immediately if he's dead, so that thing must have ran off after realizing I would be back soon" he said.

"Your mother should know the basics about it, anyway, get out of here and stop annoying me" he said.

"Can I say goodbye to him?" She asked but shook in pain when Ethan suddenly looked at her with glaring purple eyes with a hint of blood red inside.

"Don't push your luck brat, centuries of rebirth might have soften my other soul but it didn't do shit to me, I won't think twice before snapping your neck " he said casually but his voice devoid of any emotion, something warned Elena to leave immediately as Ethan would really do as he had just said.

She nodded with a shaky breath and rushed out of the hospital.

Whatever the war declared is going to cause, she's at least made sure not to lose another family member.

The sudden shock that her dad might have abandoned them shocked her, she had always believed he's dead.

And if her dad isn't human, does that mean there's a chance she's not a full human herself? She didn't want to think about any of that.

She won't lie to her mother but even if she's going to inform her about everything that had already happened, that would be after they packed into Bryan's mansion and ensured their safety.

She already lost Ethan, she's not going to lose her mom too, no! She would do everything to ensure her mom's safety.
