School 2017 :

In school 2017, there was a trio of friends, Lee Daehwi and Kim Joongi but one of the friends (Kim Joongi) dies and the other two fight blaming each other, just like Suho and Seojun

Sulli high school and Saebom high school were both shooted in the beautiful Yonsie University

Making of the story

The character Jeong Soobin :
Jeong Soobin's personality was quite similar to Soojin's but when Seyeon died, she started becoming angry at small things as she had a fear of loosing them.

The face claim of Jeong Soobin :
As Jeong Soobin grew up in China, I wanted her face claim to be Peng Xiaoran and she stayed the face claim for two months but then I was suggested to keep it a korean actress

Han Soeun as Jeong Soobin :
I had first seen Han Soeun in class of lies playing the role of Han Taera and her personality was also quite similar to Jeong Soobin's, making it one of the reason for me to give Soobin's face claim to her

The title 'Someone I Knew' :
Jeong Soobin in the book had already known Han Seojun as Seyeon's friend but in real life, Han Soeun knew Hwang Inyeop as they both were supporting casts of 18 again.

Furious mom :
Seyeon and Soobin's mother was a chinese actress name Cheng Luo Luo who then changed her name to Jeong Nara

Jeong Nara :
I picked the name Jeong Nara because Jeong is written as Cheng and the syllables Na and Ra are written as Luo in chinese

JS entertainment :
It was established by Soobin's father before he even got married and Jeong Nara took control over JS entertainment after his death

The true dream :
Both Seyeon and Soobin's dream was to become singer but their mom opposed it. She took Soobin with her to Beijing while Seyeon stayed to complete his dream

The reason :
Jeong Nara thought her career as an actress got over because of her marriage and thus, wanted her children to go in the acting industry

The Chinese songs used in the book :
All the Chinese songs used in this book are ost of different Chinese dramas

Han Soeun was a great choice :
I picked Han Soeun because I saw her in class of lies and she had worked in a same drama as Hwang Inyeop but she turned out to be a great choice because she can act, sing, dance and rap. She also acted as an idol in a drama Idol : The coup.

Quick Fact

The songs ‘Deja Vu’ by dreamcatcher, ‘First love’ by Sondia and ‘Hurts so good’ by Astrid S are quite similar to Soobin and Seojun's story but all of these songs have different endings

Deleted Scenes

First encounter :
Jeong Soobin and Han Seojun were actually going to have their first encounter during a bike race.

Ahn Hyunkyu :
The character Ahn Hankyu's name is actually Ahn Hyunkyu in the original true beauty series.

Soobin's love for Seojun :
Soobin fell in love with Seojun the day they kissed in Ch. 16 but she kept denying it to herself and kept getting jealous whenever she saw him with Jugyeong

The twist :
In Ch. 16, instead of Jugyeong, Soobin was going to have a couple shoot with Seojun and as Soobin said that it was her boyfriend who met Jugyeong at the K mall, Seojun was going to act as Soobin's secret boyfriend when the pictures of their shoot comes out online

Another twist :
Nothing happened as mentioned above because I thought this would be a perfect time to create misunderstandings between Jugyeong and Suho

Cheng Luo Luo :
The face claim of Cheng Luo Luo is Deng Sha and her original name was decided to be Hwang Yu

The Suho-Soobin ship :
Suho actually had feelings for Soobin when he first met her at Seyeon's apartment but started seeing her as a friend that he should take care of after Seyeon's death

In Ch. 15 instead of ‘who misses fate in the mirror’, Soobin was going to sing ‘you are the microstar in my reflection’

In Ch. 17 Soobin was going to vote Suho for being Jugyeong's boyfriend but I cut off that part

In Ch. 19, Seojun was going to give Soobin a dare because he won the game but he ended up giving i the dare two years later after their debut

Sad ending :
This book was actually going to have a sad ending. Sarang of TEAM1 was going to leak that Soobin has taken her credit and then Jeong Nara was going to take Soobin back to China where she will become an actress. When she comes back to Korea for a project, she would meet Seojun were she would tell him that they can't be together as she wants to concentrate on her career and thus a sad ending.

Would you like it if I give this book an alternate ending?

It wasn't a sad ending :
I felt really bad when I thought of writing a sad ending, because Soobin and Seojun where like made for each other and I didn't wanted our Seojun to have a heart break here too. So I gave this book a happy ending
