vii. she should keep in mind there is nothing I do betted than revenge
[TW: attempted SA]
SHE HAD BEEN PICKING UP LESS shifts since the incident two weeks ago. She could not bear to be at the place that had caused her so much trouble.
Still, she had to earn money so she would sometimes go and work there. One day, after a really long and difficult shift, she felt empty.
There was that feeling again in her chest, that aching for what they all had before.
Sometimes, Maria wished that it was the summer before Dally was sent away, when everyone was so carefree. Everything was so perfect 18 months ago. She had everything she'd ever wanted and it had all been taken away from her.
Her car had broken down so Darrel had promised to come and pick her up at the end of her shift.
He had called to tell her she was running late so she decided to go upstairs.
Her hand brushed against the hand rail, splintered from years of crazy parties. She could feel her heart speeding up as she looked up at the closed door.
Nobody had gone into Dallas' room since the incident. She remembered the way that he had looked at her that night, the way he had leaned in to kiss her before they were pulled apart by the sound of the ambulance.
She would never admit it to the rest of the group, not even to her closest friend Niamh, but she would come up here some nights after her shifts and just sit there.
A part of her missed him like a little girl and another part of her was furious that he would get in trouble - again.
She placed a hand on the handle, twisting it and opening it. She expected to be met with the same cold scene as always so she was more shocked to see two people inside.
Sylvia was lying there on the bed and on top of her was Nick, the soc who had hit on her time and time again, his tongue stuffed in her mouth.
"Sylvia," she called out.
The girl turned around, pushing her boy toy off of her and sitting up, not even bothering to button up her shirt.
"What are you doing in here?" She asked, head cocked to the side.
It was an incredulous question. The better question was what she was doing there.
Maria scoffed, "I work here, what are you doing in Dally's room?"
"Not like you care," she said, looking down and buttoning her shirt up. She stood up and Maria knew that meant that she was ready for confrontation, "You've always abandoned him,"
There was silence after that. A part of her wanted to yell at her about how it was Dally always abandoning her but she held that in.
"Me?" She just stood there, a shocked look on her face as she looked at the scene in front of her, "You're the one about to fuck the man he nearly beat to death,"
