Upon arriving at the throne room, Caius opens the door as I follow behind him closely. All eyes dart over his shoulder and onto me as they stare at me in shock. Both Aro and Marcus glare at Caius like he's gone insane. I give Aro a half-ass glance as I remember the previous day's events, wondering if his wife is still here. Jane and who I assume to be Alec, look at me fondly and smile. Caius smirks smugly and sits on his throne before pulling me to stand on his left, partially behind him.

"Let the trials begin brothers" he announces while staring at the door expectantly.

Aro claps his hands together, followed by the sound of footsteps beginning to chorus through the hallway. After a few moments, three men walk into the room. I recognize two of them, the first two that I shot and knocked out when I arrived here. The other one seems to be someone new to me. The ones in the back, who I assume to be Felix and Demetri, push the middle guy forward. I watch as Aro reads his mind to figure out if he truly broke a law, but it turns out that he's innocent. The next two trials end up the same way, just simple misunderstandings.

Finally, the next and apparently last trial (as informed by Caius), begins. Demetri and Felix drag in a very infuriated male vampire. He thrashes in their arms and growls deeply in retaliation, but they ignore it and hold him down to his knees. I look at the man and suddenly get a weird feeling. I feel a slight click in my head, usually what I feel before a vision occurs. Just as Aro is about to behead him, I step forward.

"Stop!" I yell loudly.

I blink but when my eyes open, everything's different.

I look to my left and notice someone standing next to a table of some sort. I walk around him, eyeing the gun collection on the table. Wait, this place looks familiar. I look up at the man and that's when I see him, Colton. I feel my heart shatter into bits as I realize what's about to happen. I'm going to watch the life fade from his eyes, just like everyone else I've loved. The one death I was glad to have never witnessed and that's all about to change.

Just as expected, a swift breeze of wind blows past us. He looks around suspiciously searching for any intruders. Suddenly, a man appears behind him and grabs his hair before yanking his head to the side. I watch as he buries his fangs into the neck of my best friend. His eyes stare into mine as the color fades from them slowly. After a few seconds, his body is dropped to the ground with a thud. The vampire stares down at him with a smirk as he laughs menacingly.

Wait, I recognize this guy. He's the one on trial right now, I must get back!

I blink rapidly as everything comes back into focus. The vampire on his knees looks up at me with a sinister smile on his face.

"You saw it didn't you? You watched me kill that pathetic excuse of a hunter, huh?" he says with a slight chuckle.

"Shut the fuck up, you know nothing about him" I state through gritted teeth as I step closer to him.

Caius puts his arm out to stop me, but I shove him out of the way and keep walking.

"Why? Tell me why you did it, why Colton?" I ask sternly.

His smirk drops to a scowl "You really don't remember, do you? A few months ago, you killed my brother! You had no remorse for your actions, you just wiped him out along with every other vampire you came across. Have you told them? About your little ability, the visions? Have you told them how many of our kind you've killed? The hundreds of people just like your mates, that you brutally put down like rabid dogs. My brother was one of them! I wanted you to suffer, to know that your friend's death, was all your fault".
