My Last Breath (Volturi kings)

ELEVEN.

I whip my head around to see Caius and Marcus glaring at us jealously.

"Yours? Please, if anything she's ours" Caius states with a scoff as anger still pours from him.

I wiggle out of Aro's arms and walk up to Caius with a slight pout.

"Are you mad at me il mio amore?" I ask him quietly.

His gaze softens as he looks down at me with a deep sigh.

"No- Actually, yes. I am" he states as his usual harsh scowl appears on his face.

My heart drops at his words as I stare up at him sadly, causing his scowl to fade slightly.

"But, I can't stay mad at you. I'm upset that you wanted to leave us, to leave me. Especially after we spent all morning together and I was quite enjoying my time with you" he states as a frown forms on his lips.

He looks at my pouting face for a few more seconds before quickly opening his arms for me. I giggle and immediately walk into his embrace as he wraps his arms around me tightly. He inhales my scent deeply before lifting me off the ground and spinning us around happily. Marcus leans over to us and presses his cold lips on my forehead gently before backing away, letting Caius have his time with me.

"Okay let's get you out of here and back home safely" he whispers in my ear and begins walking towards the nearby woods.

"Wait! I want to drive my car back, pleasee!" I beg him with my best puppy eyes.

He groans impatiently before stopping and slowly turning back around. He walks to my car before finally letting me down but keeps one hand around my arm gently.

"But only if you take some of us with you so we know you're safe. I vote me as passenger" he states while smirking.

"Nonsense, I have hardly got to spend time with her! Plus, after seeing her past, I would prefer to stay with her so I can tell if she's having another vision. I'm unsure if we'd be able to break her out of it but I can at least know when it's happening and offer comfort afterwards, if all else fails" Aro demands while giving me a subtle worried look.

They begin to argue back and forth over who will go with me as I stand there and look at them, fully dumbfounded. I should have expected this from them, but I was kind of hoping for a peaceful drive home. After a few minutes of their bickering, I notice the guards shifting from their stances, clearly uncomfortable. The twins share a look that I can only describe as traumatized while they watch the kings argue.

I finally decide to intervene, not wanting the guards to suffer anymore "Hey dorks, I have a backseat you know? You can all come with, if you shut up and let it be a semi-peaceful drive".

They all look over at me in surprise before glancing at each other for a moment and shrugging in unison. I shake my head and open my trunk before slipping my hunting related belongings where they belong. Both the kings and guards stare at the trunk in shock and maybe even slight fear but I just shrug it off, they know I'm a hunter so what's the point?

I close it again and walk around to the driver's side door before reaching toward the handle, only to be stopped by Aro opening it for me. I roll my eyes at him and get in as he closes the door behind me. Within seconds, they get in as well before giving a nod of approval to the guards. Turning the key to my car, it starts up along with the radio. I slip in my mixtape disc and turn up the volume. The song Back in Black by AC/DC begins playing as I bob my head and play air drums to the beat.

"What is this atrocious tune? If this is today's idea of good music, I'm grateful to be from a different millennium!"
