Lizzie's POV
"Fuck you!" is the last thing I shouted before I slammed the front door behind me and drove away.

It's been two days now. I'm lying in my bed at my mother's house right now. I've hardly left the room in the last two days. Even though I don't regret breaking up with Robbie because I know he only hurt me, it kind of hurts to leave a 6 year relationship behind like that.

I had just grabbed something to eat when my cell phone vibrated.

Scarlett
I have two tickets for a concert tonight
I'll pick you up at 6pm

Lizzie
I'm not really in the mood for a concert

Scarlett
Oh come on, you'll love the band

Lizzie
I don't know...

Scarlett
It's a great distraction
There's also alcohol ;)

Lizzie
Okay...

Scarlett
Yeah!
See you tonight
Dress hot, you're single again 😏

I roll my eyes and put my cell phone aside again.

I've noticed for a long time that Robbie has changed. He just wasn't there for me anymore, he hardly knew anything about me and didn't listen to me.
When I broke up with him, it took a load off my mind. I was relieved. I felt free.
I don't think I was really sad because I broke up with him, I think I was sad because I wasted the last six years with him. That's why I decided to go to this concert with Scarlett tonight, I'm sure it will do me good.

...

So after putting on one of my short dresses, I put on my high heels as the doorbell rings.
"Hey," I say when I see Scarlett behind the door I opened.
"Uhhh, I didn't think you'd really dress hot, you look bomb" she says and hugs me.
"You don't look bad either" I say as I see her amazing outfit.

"How are you?" Scarlett asks me as we make our first martinis.
"Fine."
She looks at me incredulously. I probably wouldn't believe me either.
"Really, sure it's weird after six years, but I'm very relieved, I feel better"
"Okay, great, that's what I wanted to hear" she says, holding her martini in the air to toast.
"Here's to a nice evening"
"To a nice evening" I repeat as I lightly knock my glass against hers.

...

After being let out by the cab in front of a bar, we went to the entrance where the doorman asked for our name. Apparently it was a private party today. 

When we went in, the atmosphere was already pretty good, with a DJ still playing at the moment, as we headed straight to the bar to get another drink.

Y/n's POV
"Yeah I'm already done" I say to Freya, my best friend. She's not only my best friend, but also my colleague. We've been playing in the same band for two years.
I can't imagine a better life at the moment.
So when I come out of the changing room so that Freya can get ready too, she smiles at me.
"You look good"
"Thanks" I say with a smile.
"I'm going to get some fresh air" I say and reach for my pack of cigarettes.
"Hurry up, it's performance time soon!" Freya calls after me.
"Yes mother"
She shows me her middle finger, but that's her love language, so I grin and put the cigarette between my lips.

...

When I get out of the side door, I take a quick breath. I light my cigarettes with my lighter and take a big drag.
We're currently on a small tour with our band the Pulse which we formed not so long ago. We've released a few songs and had our first hit with our song "Look at us now". We went on a tour and now we're back in Los Angeles doing a little private concert in the bar where we first played ever and I'm really excited.
I love the touring life. A lot of traveling, drinking and you're well received by the women, very well in fact. And best of all, I can live this life with my best friends who perform with me in the band.

Lizzie's POV
When I take a quick look at my cell phone, I see that I've missed a call.

Missed call
Robbie ❤️

Only then I realize that I haven't removed the heart behind his name yet. I can't do that right now. The first time I didn't think about him and then he suddenly reappears.

I need some fresh air, preferably with a cigarette.

"I'm going to get some fresh air, can you get us the next round?" I ask, pointing to our empty glasses.
Scarlett nods and heads over to the bar.

When I find a side door, I open it and step outside, taking a deep breath. Then I take a cigarette out of my pocket and go to take the lighter when I realize I forgot.
"fuck" I say and only then I realize that I'm not alone.A woman turns to me and hands me her lighter. "Thanks" I say and grin at her. 

I immediately notice that I'm more relaxed as I take the first drag of my cigarette.
"Do I know you?" the woman asks suddenly.
"Sorry?"
"You look familiar, do you come to the bar often?"
"No, I'm here with a friend, she loves the band that's playing here tonight"
"And what about you? What do you think of the band?"
"I'll be honest, I don't know them"

She took another drag from her cigarette, looking like she could use it as much as I could.
"And what about you?" I ask.
"I'm mainly here for the after-party, are you going to be there too?"
"I didn't even know there was one" I answer honestly.
"Oh, then you know now. It's in the VIP area at the end after the show" she says and takes another puff.
"Ah okay sounds great"
She takes one last drag on her now burnt cigarette and throws it on the floor and steps on it so it goes out.

"See you then" she says and turns to go back inside but stops again.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't quite catch your name," she says again.
"Elizabeth, but everyone calls me Lizzie" I say.
She grins at me and is about to go back inside "and what about you?" she stops again "what's your name?" I ask as she turns back around.
"I'll tell you later" she grins and disappears through the door. I felt very hot in that moment. I grinned to myself and took another drag when I realized it was already the last one, so I tossed my cigarette to the mysterious woman's.

I pull out my cell phone when I see that it's 08:01, it's supposed to start at 8pm. So I quickly go in when I see that the band has just started. I quickly sit down next to Scarlett.
"I thought you'd gone" she says.
"I'm not leaving you alone"
The lead singer starts to sing as I turn my eyes to the stage.

"I don't know who I am
Baby, baby, baby
Do you know who you are?
Is it out of our hands?
Tell me, tell me, tell me
How we made it this far?"
