Visiting Caleb was something that Juliette wished she got around to doing a whole lot more - if it were up to her, she'd be at Danielle's house every single day, but the world had had a funny way of keeping her from seeing her little brother lately, and it was getting on her nerves because all she wanted to do was hold the little guy... He had all the best parts of her, she could see it in his eyes, and she wanted to hold the good things in the world for a bit.

Right now however, she and Esme were stopped outside Danielle's house, and Esme looked moments from fainting.

What? Why? Is the goodness too much?

"Hey." Juliette said softly, prompting Esme to lift their head and come out of whatever world they were stuck in in their mind to look over at her. There you are, I was wondering how long that was going to take.

"Hm?" Come on, you know what. She wanted to know why they had been so lost in thought, so stuck in how they were sitting in for a moment... She wanted to get into their mind and ease whatever was going on up there.

"What's up?" She asked, and Esme scoffed, waving her off in a way that might have been believable when they first started dating, but it'd been a while now... There was no way that she was letting that slide.

They had something on her mind, and she wanted to know what it was.

"Nothing..." Don't lie to me.

"Esme..." Juliette tried to get them to look over on her tone alone, but that didn't work. She reached over, placing a hand on theirs. They could tell her whatever was on their mind, she wanted them to remember that. They flipped their hand over, linking their fingers together as they looked over at her. "Talk to me, prettyboy." She insisted, and Esme sighed, nodding as they hung their head.

"Are you sure I was invited to this too? It's a family night, I don't wanna intrude." Esme said, and Juliette chuckled, shaking her head as she leaned over to place a hand on their cheek. If it was a family night, how could they possibly be intruding? This was the person she planned to marry, obviously they were invited to family night, and not just by her. Danielle had made sure multiple times that Esme was coming with her.

If they weren't wanted, they wouldn't have been asked.

"Baby, how the hell do you think you're intruding when you're the love of my life?" She asked, and Esme frowned, pressing their cheek into her palm, seeming to relish in her touch. God, you're so fucking cute.

"I'm not family-." Juliette cut them off by drawing them in for a lingering kiss, sighing against them... She hoped to god that the feeling of her lips would be enough to stun them out of their thoughts, just like it was for her.

She pulled away a moment later, resting her forehead against theirs.

"To them you are, they see you as family because we're in love." She reminded them, and Esme sighed, placing their hand against her cheek, not pulling away from where they were connected, not even for a moment.

"And they want me here?" Juliette nodded, but Esme didn't look too sure, that was clear from the adorable little furrow they always got in their brow when they got nervous. She reached up, tracing her finger over it. You're okay, baby. You're wanted. "You're sure?" They asked, and she nodded.

If she wasn't completely sure, there was no way that she would be bringing them with her, but these were known people who had asked to make sure that Esme was coming along... They wanted her there, she's part of the fucking family.

"I'm completely sure." She pulled away a bit and smiled, giving them a look that she hoped was reassuring... They were running late, they had to get in there. "Now come on, they're waiting." She said, and Esme nodded, straightening up even as they didn't loosen up. Baby, it's okay.
