Dates with Esme Panchek should've felt normal by now, after all they'd been together in some sense or another for nearly seven months, they lived together, they spent most of their time together... But Juliette hadn't figured out to not get nervous yet. As she fixed her lipstick in the mirror, her heart was in her throat at the thought of how beautiful Esme was going to look, at how perfect their night together was going to be... And at the thought of how she could so easily mess the whole thing up. It was kind of her thing, ruining something good in favor of something terrible.
Hopefully she could avoid that this time, that was her overall goal. She blotted her lipstick and smiled, hoping that Esme would like her outfit - it was a nice red dress that she'd bought with Shelby a few weeks ago, and it cut low on her chest and high on her thighs, accenting her waist... But she still worried that Esme would focus on how it clung to her stomach and her hips... Not that they seemed to mind that part of her, she just would never not fear the time when they finally did mind it, when their impossibly sweet attraction to her turned into something real, something soured.
"Juliette?" She was roused from her thoughts by the sound of Esme's voice, which was something that was not uncommon. She cleared her throat, straightening up as she gave her hair one last look in the mirror before responding. That's as close to hot as I'm gonna get, it's gonna have to do.
"Yeah, baby?" She called back, waiting a beat to hear them respond as her brain spiraled... What if they were gonna cancel? Or say that she wasn't good enough for them, or-.
"Can you come in here and help me with something?" Oh. Her shoulders, which she hadn't even realized were tense, relaxed back to their normal position as she let out a sigh of relief and nodded, pushing off the sink. She'd gladly help them with whatever they needed.
She walked out of the bathroom, creaking their bedroom door open carefully.
"What do you-." She froze there, her jaw dropping as she took in their frame... Esme didn't wear dresses that often, but for the life of her Juliette couldn't figure out why... Well... There was the gender aspect, but other than that she really had no idea, because they never failed to render her speechless. Their back was turned to her, and she saw soft, scarred skin of her back where the dress was unzipped, watched in fascination how the muscles moved under the skin until they cleared their throat, and she shook herself out of her stupor. Right. Right, you called me in here for a reason. "What do you need, sweetheart?" She asked, her voice cracking over the words as she leaned in the doorway, needing the support to not instinctively drop down to her knees for them. They looked over her shoulder, giving her a small smile.
"Could you zip this for me? I can't reach." She said, and Juliette nodded dumbly, walking forward even as she felt like she was moving through a fog, her hands finding their waist... She didn't wanna zip it up, she wanted to pull it off, to press Esme against the dresser and make them scream, but she'd behave.
For now.
"Of course, no problem." She mumbled, gripping onto the zipper with shaking hands as she dragged it up, ducking her head to press a kiss to their spine before the fabric covered it, making them gasp and arch their back, their hips pushing back into her as she let out a grunt, squeezing her eyes shut as she fought to keep her brain from going down the rabbit hole of how useful their instincts could be.
They didn't have time to do anything before their reservation, and she didn't want to be the reason that they were late.
"Okay, that wasn't fair... You know how sensitive my spine is." They mumbled, leaning back into her as she sighed, letting her hands rest on their hips, sliding around to the front to link together as she pressed kisses to their exposed shoulder... This was part of why they never really made it out of the house for dates anymore.
