~Chapter 10 – Exposed~

(Jethro)
She packed quite a punch in my stomach, as I doubled over winded already this girl what was she the hulk? It was like a living terminator in the house she was lethal. Needed to make a note that a surprised punch will be packed in my days to come if this continued. I watched her eyes turn to fear so I was right I knew the old man was up to something, but I didn’t think he would actually call a girl to help him. Moreover, for something trivial as well
This girl looked frightened, I was glad to scare her in fact I will continue to blackmail her I haven’t had fun for a while now. This will be amusing to me; I can hardly contain my excitement the only problem is my nose won’t be fine tomorrow morning and neither will my eye. I watched her run away she didn’t even look back not once, I heard Mason come in with the pack of ice and looked at me with his eyebrows raised once more I knew he thought it was my fault.
“Don’t ask it was fun.” I looked at him and smirked sheepishly
“Jethro seriously, if this continues you will be in hospital I’m not joking” Mason replied shaking his head left to right his ash blonde hair glinting in the sunset that was going down.
I won’t lie; it probably was by me blurting out why she was here. However, the question was for whom was she here for? Seriously, did she think we needed a tutor? I walked outside for a bit of fresh air before I actually managed to get around thinking I needed to apologize to my guest. Don’t want to scare her off without the exciting journey starting right.
I knew where she was, but I made a pit stop at the bathroom before I went there. I found an excuse to actually go see her face this time. I had carried her school uniform, which I saw hanging on the stall neat and pristine ready to be worn. Thinking I’d be a nice person and hand it to her and all I smirked I wasn’t this nice really. Once I stepped in front of the door, I stopped she was speaking and she seemed distressed. I heard the girls cry was she probably on the phone. I placed my ears against the door I know people say ears dropping is bad and all who cares I needed information and fast.
“So you’re having a party while I’m stuck with strangers I don’t even know! I can’t do this matchmaking job it’s too risky!” I heard her say the rest was muffled for a second
It was quiet for a while, the job was risky? What was she going to do assassinate someone?
“Save it dear mother I won’t be calling you for a month anyway I hope you enjoy your fun time! Thank you for ruining my life.”
Oh, she sounded angry, this was getting good. Therefore, it was her mother she was screaming at, so it probably was her mother who talked with dad about this job thing. However, for who? It better not be for me I need to find out now.
I didn’t have time to even move away quick enough. Without having her stare at me with wide eyes her mouth agape, I couldn’t think of anything. I knew trying to be a mini detective didn’t sound as cool as it was in my head. Now I’m stuck with a girl who looks like she got slapped once or twice for her face to turn so pale in this dim light.
“Hello?” I mustered up and I saw her eyes narrow and nearly slam the door on my face. If I hadn’t stuck my foot out on the door to stop her doing so, she groaned and I smirked at her honesty of seeing my face.
“Go away please” she muttered she was really pissed
“No, hear me out I’ve also got your uniform so you got to listen.” I replied back determined
She opened the door and motioned me to come in, I actually liked doing this I should do this more often. I walked across and laid myself on her bed comfortably, I dumped her clothes on a chair, and I noticed her irritation and I smirked. I saw the tray next to me, was she about to eat? Did I interrupt or did her mother?
“What do you want?” I heard her say politely she was trying so hard not to punch me believe me I didn’t want to be punched again, but her hands I noticed were unclenching and clenching.
“I need to know something but you got to be truthful.” I replied seriously, as I stared at her hard I watched her narrowed eyes, frown, and grinned
“Shoot.” She crossed her arms and waited
“I need to know why you are actually here.” I replied I watched her squirm I hit a nerve
“That is none of your business you may be Mr Ebner’s son but I cannot disclose any information to you about why I am here I am a tutor only.” she replied it as if she’s been saying it all her life, she sounded so slow that it drawled out of her mouth. I stifled a laugh; I think she would fit right in with the nerds in school.
“Seriously you won’t tell me?” I shot up annoyed but intrigued at this proposition
“I can’t and will not say anything.” she replied determination sparked in her eyes and I smiled, I liked how tough she was but she had a motif for this job, but there was something else I will crack her.
I slowly went towards her, I saw how she was trembling was she scared of me? No way it can’t be, that’s stupid really. However, her stance showed how straight and ready she was which amused me. I leaned in towards her our nose nearly touching, I saw her flinch slightly but she stood her ground I saw the deep blush rising and I couldn’t help but sneer.
“Fine be that way.” I breathed and she looked at me strangely and I smiled even more. “This just means your life will be hell for a while” I watched her mouth drop open somewhat and I know I startled her
I saw the mortified look she gave me and her frown deepened, she was truly angry but I didn’t care I needed to know what that old man was up to and why? This was a battle now this wasn’t any job business.
“Get out.” her final reply and I smirked one last time before I left
This was going to be so fun.
(Raquel)
“That son of a-“I bit my tongue this is what he wants, for me to be angry his is provoking me I should stop.
I heard him walk away closing the door behind him what a complete jackass, I cannot believe he is threatening me who does he think he is. Wait I didn’t need an answer to that question. I really need to do something I can’t let him find out why I am here at all. This has become a disaster how will I ever get Mason to go on a date now.
Without having his brother tagging along, he seems to really want to know. On the other hand, is it just a ploy? There is a secret here I know for sure I need to know what he plans to do? Without blowing my cover if I blow my cover my mother might lose her job. I can’t afford that, no way.
Never, even if it cost my life and severed my dignity.
