If someone told I was crazy two days ago, I wouldn’t have understood why they called me that. On the other hand, why they even bothered staying with me to even tell me that. However today, today just doesn’t define how crazy I was. No my day started with a thud and a groan and then ended with Jethro asking me to go school with him.

Was I kidding? No. He was serious, deadly serious. Therefore, as a pushover that I am, agreed that I would walk with him to school. He didn’t ask why I needed to do it and I didn’t ask him why he wanted me, because he asked nicely. That’s a lie, it was pretty gruff but I know he wanted to say it nicely. So I agreed but I wasn’t going to tell him that.

So were walking up the hill area, and nothing. No sound of anyone walking by no sound of people talking, it was just us two. Moreover, suddenly I felt conscious, like was he going to attack me after what I did with him two days ago? I mean with the water balloon, as he didn’t do anything yet. I cleared my throat and opened my mouth to ask him something at least, but closed it again afraid he will get angry, why did I even bother?

Everyday I’m shu-ff shuffling...

I freaked out; I glanced at him quickly who looked more interested in the trees than me. As I snapped, open my phone and answered it.

“Hello.” I said

“Summer baby!” I heard my mom shout urgently

“Yeah” I replied, was she drunk again? But she sounded a bit sober now.

“I need to ask for some money again as I am short, it’s super urgent honey!” She replied quickly she sounded breathless as if she was running.

“Where are you? Are you ok?” I was worried now

“Listen just do as I say!” she yelled and I held the phone away from my ears and it got me so angry right now.

“I can’t, I don’t have enough for myself!” I replied angrily, I didn’t see her getting me money the amount the Ebner man gave me. This will only will last me about 4 weeks and then I have to wait again I don’t even know how the process is.

“Shit.” I heard her swear and that literally took me by surprise

“Mom” I replied shakily wondering if she cut me off. “MOM!”

“Sorry honey I have to go now.” She muttered

“Mom, don’t hang-“And then I heard a click. “Up.” I was so frustrated I couldn’t believe this.

“Mom, don’t hang-“I heard her desperate voice. “Up.” She motioned afterwards I looked at her she was about hurl her cell phone on the nearest person, which would have been me.

“You ok?” I asked clearing my throat I saw her face flush in embarrassment, did she forget I was with her.

“Yes, sorry about that.” She muttered and cursed under her breath I noticed her look my way again and nod at me and walked ahead

I just realized we were here already, that was a quick walk. I watched her walk ahead and wondered if she was always this quiet? Or did she actually talk to me because I make her talk to me. She was a tough nut to crack, I will find a way.

Tutoring job? I bet her real job was to get Mason a girl. I need to talk to that man again, two days ago was just a fluke of a meeting.  I hated him with passion, I wonder what my mother saw in this man a self centred and very irritating male I have seen. I’m glad Mason didn’t come out as deformed as him or else I would have lost my mind. That man needs a lesson learnt, maybe it was time to be the bad boy again.
