Returning from honeymoon, Brendon and Louise dumped their bags in the front hallway.
"That was the best vacay." Louise said. They were both well rested and tanned.
"It really was." Brendon said putting an arm around Louise. It was late, so they decided to sort their bags out tomorrow. They walked into the kitchen and Louise went to get a glass of water. She noticed that all their cupboards had been rearranged.
"Babe?" Brendon called from the living room.
"Yea?"
"Come here a sec." Louise walked into the living room. "All my video games have been mixed up." Brendon said, frowning.
"Yea, so are the kitchen cupboards." Louise replied back.
"Nothing we can do now. Let's go to bed." She shrugged.
The next morning, they both got up and got everything unpacked and into the utility room. Louise put the first load on whilst Brendon went to get the dogs from kennels, and Xena from Graces. Grace had also been keeping an eye on their house.
Brendon called out "We're home!."
Louise heard 8 paws trotting towards. "Hello babies." She said, bending down to accept their kisses. Brendon let a meowing Xena out of the cat carrier. Xena came over to Louise and rubbed up against. "Aww my girl." Louise stroked Xena, who was now purring, loudly, at this point.
It was nearly Thanksgiving. As much as Louise wanted to host it, their house just wasn't big enough. Brendons parents invited them, but Louise said maybe they could do Christmas with them, like last year.
Brendon suggested they have their own Thanksgiving, just the 2 of them. Louise loved the idea. She was feeling tired, and the thought of travelling again, did not thrill her. Louisr felt like she was hungover from the honeymoon, but no matter how much sleep she got, she still felt tired.
After Thanksgiving, the holiday season was in full swing. Louise was working hard and coming home, exhausted, everyday. Louise was doing her Christmas shopping on her lunchbreaks, too. So she wasn't really eating properly.
Christmas Eve came around. Louise and Brendon had packed their bags, ready to go to Las Vegas. Edith, was spending the holidays with Louise's brother, Richard, and his family.
They got into the car and headed East. Brendon sang along to the Christmas music, playing in the car. Louise smiled at her husband. About and hour into the journey, they stopped at a gas station. Louise needed to use the restroom. When she got back to the car, Brendon was sat in the passenger seat, several bags of cheesy chip in his hands. He also had candy. Louisr laughed as she got in the drivers side.
"You can't wait 3 more hours for food?"
"Nope. I will waste away." Brendon said, putting his hand on his forehead, being dramatic.
"Ok then." Louise giggled and started the car.
The journey went by relatively quickly after that. In no time at all, they were pulling up outside Grace and Boyds home. They got out and Brendon went to get their bags. Louise knocked on the door. Boyd answered.
"Louise!." He said opening his arms for a hug. "There's no need to knock. You are family." He chuckled.
"Hi Dad." Brendon said, dropping their bags and hugging his father.
"I told her this." Brendon said, smiling at Louise.
They all went onto the house. Grace came and hugged Louise, then her son. Boyd took their bags and put them in Brendons old bedroom, which was now a guestroom.
Grace went to make drinks. Louise declined alcohol as she said her tummy was a little upset. So she had a tea, instead. The Christmas tree in the lounge looked beautiful. The lights were twinkling, and the angel on top was looking down at them all.
Grace got up to go and start dinner. Louise jumped up to help.
"No, you sit and rest." Grace said. She gave Louise a little wink and walked into the kitchen. Boyd Brendon and Louise decided to play Monopoly. Louise knew exactly how it was going to end. Brendon has never seen a game through. He either gets bored or flips the board because he's losing.
After 2 hours, Grace came through to announce that dinner was ready.
"Aww but I am winnnninngggg." Brendon whined, like a child. Louise wondered if they were going to get one of Brendons infamous 'tantrums'. But he got up and went into the dining room with the others.

Brendon woke Louise up the next morning. He was bouncing on the bed.
"Baby it's Christmas!" He yelled. Louise groaned and tried to turn over for some more sleep. Brendon was having none of it and preceded to take the duvet off Louise.
"Brendon it's still dark out." Louise said.
"But it's Christmas!"
"Ok Ok, I am up." Louise got up and put her robe on. They went downstairs. Louise went to put a pot of coffee on. Brendon was jumping about all excited. Louise handed Brendon a cup of coffee. Grace and Boyd came down the stairs.
"Good morning, Merry Christmas. " Grace said to them both, hugging them. She then went to pour coffee for her and Boyd.
They all went to sit in the living room, and the gift exchanging began. Brendon went last. He opened all of his gifts. There was 1 gift left to open, a small rectangular box, from Louise. Brendon thought it could possibly be a new watch or something.
He opened it and moved the tissue to reveal.........
