Tour was nearly over. They were currently in Seattle. After that, they had a couple of dates in Oregon, and then it was back to California.
Louise was very pregnant now. She still had 2 weeks left. It was the end of July, so the weather was unbearable for her, outside somewhere with AC.
It was a Friday morning, and it was their last show in Seattle. Louise was up at 5am. She kept getting Braxton Hicks contractions. At first, Louise panicked that it was actual labour when she first started getting them. Her OBGYN reassured her that these were perfectly normal.
Louise was practising her breathing techniques and pacing up and down. The baby was very ready to be born now. The head had descended into Louise's pelvis.
Brendon turned over to hug Louise, then felt empty space. He looked at the time, 6.30, and realised Louise was already up. Brendon got out of bed and went to use the bathroom. He then put a shirt on and walked towards the kitchen area of the bus. He poured himself a coffee. Louise was nowhere to be seen. Brendon started worrying where she had gone. It can't be far as she couldn't walk too well.
Brendon was about to call her when the bus doors opened, and Louise stepped on with Walmart bags.
She had bought cleaning supplies. Brendon looked puzzled.
"Why did you buy cleaning supplies, baby?" He asked.
"Because this place is filthy. It needs a good old clean." Louise explained. She had also been to IHOP to get some breakfast for everyone. Louise made herself a tea and sat down to eat. The rest of the band woke up and came to also to eat.
2 hours later, the band went to do their soundcheck. Louise got on with cleaning the bus. She dusted washed and cleaned everywhere. The bus was sparkling clean. Louise had seen a laundrette nearby. So she stripped all the beds and took the bedding there. Whilst it was washing, she returned to the bus to carry on cleaning.
By the time the guys came back, beds were remade and clean.
"Wow," Dan said. "I think this is now actually cleaner than when we first got the bus."
"It is. Now you can sit down and rest, Lou." Brendon said.
"Yea." Louise agreed. "I am going to have a nap." And she went into the bedroom and closed the door.Saturday morning and they had arrived in Portland, Oregon. They had 2 shows here as well. One tonight and one on Monday night.
Brendon was strumming on his acoustic guitar. He was playing random songs and singing along.
Louise was having a shower, and the other guys had gone out to get food.
Bremdon started playing a song and started to sing,
"I know I always tend to make it about me. I know you never get just what you see...." He carried on singing. From the bedroom Louise piped up with,
"And when we had that fight out in the rain, you came after me and called my name."
Brendon laughed and carried on to the chorus.
They sang it in harmony, together. Louise loved the song. She always laughed at the part where Brendon and Taylor argued in French. The fact it was her husband and favourite female artist was a bonus. Brendon had surprised Louise with the vinyl of Lover for her birthday. He had had Taylor sign it for her.
Louise didn't know if Brendon could be even sexier than he already was. But when he spoke in French. This, along with pregnancy hormones, meant that one afternoon, whilst everyone was out, Louise took full advantage of having the bus to themselves.
Brendon carried on playing songs. Louise came and sat down with her book. She wanted a tea but didn't want to disturb Brendon. She would probably be peeing it out of her 20 minutes later anyway.Monday came around, and it was the last show in Portland, before heading back to California. Louise had been having Braxton Hicks contractions all day long. She had every intention of going to the show, but she felt a little unwell. So, she stayed behind. Louise had a shower and came out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel. She went to go into the bedroom, when this intense pain shot through her stomach. It made her double over.
"OUCH!" She yelled. The bus driver came to see if she was ok.
"Yea, I am good." Louise gasped, getting her breath back. She stood back up and went into the bedroom to get dressed. Louise just put some comfy sweats on.
About 10 minutes later another pain shot through her body. Then there was wetness, and that's when Louise realised she was in Labour.
Louise didn't know what to do. Brendon and the guys were right in the middle of the show. They still had another hour to do. Louise thought that she could bear it until then. She would send the bus driver to get Brendon, then. Louise decided to lay on the couch for a bit. Try and focus on her breathing techniques. The pain was getting worse and contractions were getting closer together. Louise tried to hear what song they were up to, to gauge how long was left.
"Girls Girls/ Boys" She muttered to herself.
Another pain took hold and this made her cry out in pain. The show was nearly over. Just High Hopes and Sins left. When the bus driver asked if she was ok this time, she asked him to get help and to tell Brendon what was happening. Contractions were thick and fast now. Louise got off the couch and crawled on all fours towards the bedroom. She was stopped in her tracks, by the overwhelming sensation to go to the bathroom.
"AAAAHHHHHHH!" She screamed out. "OMG THIS BABYS COMING NOW!"
