کس کا رستہ دیکھیں
اے دل
اے سودائی
میلوں ہے خاموشی
برسوں ہے تنہائی~

Kiska rasta dekhein
Ae dil
Ae saudaayi
Meelo hai khamoshi
Barso hai tanhaayi~

(Whom are you awaiting?
O heart
O lunatic

For miles around, there is silence
and for ages, loneliness)

---------

When are your parents coming?
I'm asking so I can talk to my father about you.
Dekho jab se Ansha ki shaadi hui hai ghar per 3 langooro ke rishtey aachukey hain uss shaadi ki wajah se. Mama and Baba want to marry me off soon.
I don’t have a valid reason to avoid the marriage.
I'm really sorry; I don't want to pressure you into this, but I am also compelled, Zaviyaar.

Taking a deep breath, she wrote. She knew something was amiss with Zaviyaar. His responses were short and dry, and he wasn't really engaging with her messages. All of this caused Inaya great emotional turmoil. She wanted to trust Zaviyaar, she wanted to trust her luck. However, something inside her wouldn't let her.

On the other side, Zaviyaar frustratedly rubbed his face and took a deep breath. Everything was happening so fast. He held Inaya dear to him, but he had no plans to settle down anytime soon. He wanted to stabilize his career first before marrying Inaya. Leaving everything to the future, he replied,

I understand, Inaya. Next Sunday, maybe?

He didn't know why he lied to Inaya about having talked to his mother about her. He hadn't. He didn't want to upset her by getting caught in a lie. Now he realized he needed to speak with them soon. His father was coming for a two-week visit that Friday.

Shukar. Okay

After replying to Zaviyaar, she slept for a few hours. She then joined her parents at the dining table for dinner. Her father sat at the head of the table, with her mother on his right and Inaya on his left. During the meal, he occasionally added food to his wife’s and daughter’s plates. He was a loving man, but he wasn't good at coping with stress. People around him tried their best not to cause him any stress, as he was a heart patient.

"Baba, aap namaz parhliyega phir ham walk per chalein?!"

(Baba, once you finish your prayer, shall we go for a walk?)

They had just finished their dinner when Inaya spoke, and Fahad nodded in agreement. Inaya tried to convince Gulzari Bano to join them, but she refused, using her backache as an excuse, wanting to give some privacy to the father-daughter duo.

They were halfway through their walk when Inaya said,

"Baba main ney baat karni thi aapsey!"

(Baba, I wanted to talk to you!)

She had the best bond with her father. Still, she was scared he might refuse the proposal right away because there were many differences between the two families. That’s why Inaya had asked Ibrahim to convince her father; she knew Ibrahim was everyone’s favorite. She didn’t know why. To her, he was good for nothing.

"Bolo."
(Say.)

He spoke while focusing on his path, his heart beating a little faster than normal.
