Octavia Lestrange

I wake up to seventeen unread messages.

Sixteen from the group chat, one from Mattheo's number.

That's unexpected?

I groan and open the group chat first before staring at my phone.

I click on the chat and read the message.

'I'm sorry I touched you without permission, Curls.'

Really? A sorry over text? He could've easily walked up to me and said sorry but instead he decided to fucking text me.
At least he's sorry, but I do decide to leave him on read. I'll talk to him later, in real, not over a fucking text.

I slowly sit up and rub my eyes, letting out a soft sigh.

I'm definitely hungover from yesterday, my head is pounding and the room spins for a couple of seconds, and then it stops.
Slowly the memories from yesterday come flooding back, the fact I slapped Mattheo, my present for Daphne and the necklace.

Looking over to the nightstand, it sits there, shiny, calling for you to wear it.

I lean over and grab it, and then I walk over to my closet. I grab a black lock-box and put the necklace inside, locking the box and putting the key around my neck with a different necklace.

Picking an outfit for the day, I text Daphne that i'll be at her dorm in fifteen minutes, and then I get dressed and ready for the day.

"Daphne, open the door!" I whisper shout, knocking on the door for the fourth time.

The door finally opens and I look straight at the face of a just woken up Enzo.

"Woah, that's a surprise." I shake my head. "Let me in, please!"

Lorenzo groans and opens the door fully, and I walk inside and put my hands on my hips.

I point at Daphne. "I want to know all the details!" I whisper, and then I look at Lorenzo.

"What?" He asks, and I shake my head trying to suppress my laughter.

"Class starts in fifteen minutes, so get the fuck out of bed and ready!" I shout softly while opening the curtains.

"Fine" Daphne groans before slowly sitting up, her blonde hair falling over her shoulders perfectly.

How does someone wake up looking that good?

She stands up and grabs a set of clothing out of her closet before walking into the bathroom, and I look up, but Lorenzo is already gone.
I groaned and got up. "Daph, I'll be downstairs waiting on you." I say while knocking on the bathroom door, and then I get the hell out of her dorm.

Walking down the stairs, I see Theo sitting on the couch in front of the fireplace, so I walk over and sit down next to him.

"Morning T, did you sleep well?" I ask, and he shrugs his shoulders.

"I guess so? I don't know" he rubs his eyes and leans down with his head onto one of his hands.

"Alright, what's bothering you?" I ask, biting on my lip. "I've known you for more than a month, I can tell when something is up."

He looks at me and sighs. "I can't tell you, not today."

"Oh come on Theo, of course you can tell me. I'm your best friend!" I tell him, wrapping an arm around his shoulders.

"I guess the way Mattheo acts towards you just bothers me." He says, looking at me. "He just destroys the vibe in the friend group."

"I know, and you know what's crazy? He said sorry for what he did yesterday." I show him the text Mattheo sent me.

"I'm surprised he even said sorry, but over text? He can do better than that." Theo says, leaning his head onto my shoulder.

"I know, I'm going to talk to him today because I'm sick of his behavior, to be completely honest." I nod.

"Really?" Theo asks, looking at me expectantly.

I think about it for a second. "At first I could laugh about the bickering, but he's said stuff that really hurts me" I nod again. "It's done, I just want to be nice to him."

"That's new, but okay. Just remember he isn't easy, okay?" Theo says, and I smile before getting interrupted by Draco shouting at us.

"Alright love birds, good morning!" Draco shouts, coming down the stairs along with Daphne and Lorenzo.

"Where's Mattheo?" I ask, glancing around the common room.

"He said he was in the library studying, why?" Lorenzo asks, and I shake my head.

"I need to talk to him about yesterday, I'm sorry guys but I'm skipping first class today" I said as I plastered a smile across my face.

"Really, Via? You're going to abandon us?" Theo shakes his head, but I can see a soft smirk on his face.

"I'm sorry Theo , I'll be yours next lesson" I wink at him and then walk out of the common room, towards the library as fast as I can.

My strides are confident as I enter the library, walking around, trying to find the dark curly haired boy that dared to say sorry over text.

I eventually find him, in a corner, reading a book

I walk up to him and pull the chair next to him back, sitting down onto it before dropping my bag down on the table, looking at him with a questioning gaze.

"Hey, shouldn't you be in class?" Mattheo asks, putting a bookmark between the pages he was reading before closing it and softly putting it down on the table.

"Why did you apologize over text?" I ask, shaking my head. "I appreciate the gesture, but over text? Anyone could do better than that, Mattheo."

"I know, i'm sorry" He blurts out, leaning back in his chair before brushing a hand through his hair, tousling it.

"Then why didn't you come looking for me?" I ask, swallowing. "I mean, you touched me without permission, I at least deserve a decent apology."

"Look, I'm not really good at Apologizing, okay? And i'm sorry I was a dick, I shouldn't have touched you, but I was very high and drunk" He blurts out, the words exiting his mouth like a waterfall.

"See! You just apologized, without even hesitating." I said, the smallest smile forming around my lips as I look up at his face. "I know you were high, and that's no excuse, but I forgive you" I pause for a second. "But try touching me again and I'll fucking hex you"

"Alright, alright, I won't try that again, I promise" He says, nodding his head, and then he looks at me with a curious gaze. "Is that all you wanted to talk about?"

"Kind off, I just feel like we maybe need to stop the whole fighting thing between us, Theo says it's bothering him, so maybe we can keep it down? Be something like friendly acquaintances?" I ask.

"Okay, fine, we could try, but I can't promise you anything" He says, slightly smirking. "Bullying you is fun"

"Shut up! I came to Hogwarts to try and have a peaceful life, and you're disturbing my peace!" I smirk and shake my head. "I can't say I like you, but the bickering needs to stop"

He raises his eyebrows, before nodding. "Fine, we'll call a truce, we'll stop the bickering and become friendly acquaintances and everyone will be happy"

I nod my head and flash a quick smile. "Great, It'll save Theo from the nightmares he has about us killing each other" I let out a laugh and shrug before glancing at the time. "I have to get back, potions class is about to start, you coming?"

"Sure" He says, standing up and putting his book back in his bag before pulling his chair back towards the table, and then he nods.

I smile, and together we walk towards the dungeons, a new relationship blooming between us, and although a small part of me still dislikes the fact he's the dark lords son, A bigger part of me appreciates the truce we have called between us, and I can't help but smile a little while looking over at him.
