Octavia Lestrange

Theo and I sat at the fireplace in the common room. It was early in the morning, still dark outside. Although, most of the days were dark lately.

It had been three days, three days since Mattheo told me he loved me, asked me to be his girlfriend, and I couldn't stop thinking about it.

I talked about it with Theo, and he's genuinely happy for me. He admitted he saw it coming, since Mattheo was acting different ever since we'd smoked on top of the astronomy tower.

"So, what if the dark lord does come here, what are we going to do?" Theo says, his face lit by the fire in the fireplace, and I sighed.

We can all feel it coming. The dark lord is coming closer, but none of us know when he is going to strike.

Not even Mattheo.

"I don't know, I mean, we all have the mark. They are going to expect we join the lords side." I say, laying my head down on Theo's shoulder.

"We aren't going to though, are we?" he whispered, glancing over at me.

I shot up. "Of course not! I don't want to be responsible for all of the innocent people that are going to be killed" I whispered quietly, although no one was around. "Besides, we have to fight back, for Matt"

Speaking of Mattheo, as soon as his name leaves my lips, he walks down the stairs looking as handsome as ever in his black cargo jeans and white hoodie.

"Can I steal my girlfriend back, Theo?" he says, greeting me with a soft kiss to my forehead.

"Of course man, she's all yours" Theo says, and I let out a small chuckle as Mattheo picks me up, carrying me to his dorm.

"We need to talk princess" he says as he walks inside, dropping me down on his bed.

"About?" I ask, crossing my arms and then scowling at him, scared he wants to break up with me.

"About your necklace, Octavia. I need to tell you some things and you need to listen closely" he says, sitting down next to me.

"Alright, talk" I tell him, remembering he saw my necklace back when we had the snowball fight, and at the party. He probably knows what it is, what's inside.

He takes my hands in his before staring at the window. It looks like he's searching for words, so I grab his hands tighter.

"It's okay Matt, you can tell me" I say, reassuring him.

He looks at me, a sad expression on his face, and then he sighs. "Your necklace, you know what's inside of it right?" He says.

I nod. Of course I know, my mother told me enough about it, and how valuable it was.

"I stole it, your necklace. I used it to bring my father back, the stone is holding his life together" he says, and my eyes grow big.

"so it was you, who trashed my room?" I ask, shocked and mad, but at the same time I understand.

"Yes" he says, his eyes moving away from my face. "I had to, if I didn't bring my father back a whole army of Death eaters would've come looking for me and the necklace. We'd both be dead by now" he whispers.

"Okay, and about the stone, why don't we just destroy it now? I'm sure he'll die and we'll all be fine" I blurt out.

"If only it was that easy. I have to fight by my father's side, remember? If we destroy the stone now, I die, and then Death eaters will probably kill you too" he whispers the last three words, staring at me.
