PRECIOUS TIME

CHAPTER 21

A/N ~ Sorry for late update. My cousin who is younger than me, passed away yesterday morning. Stil being hospitalized here is making me feel low.

Alan's hand stopped in the air and Jeff took a step back.

"You obviously promised me." Jeff said with a deep grievance, "You clearly said that you won't take away Lil Rak."

Alan's heart seemed to be chiselled, he explained eagerly, "It's just for the time being, just wait for my dad to leave this city..."

"I have always believed what you said before, Alan but I think I was wrong. In fact, you and your dad think the same thing." Jeff muttered, "Yes, it's the same. You don't think someone like me deserves to keep your child by my side so when we met before, you humiliated me like that."

Alan was startled.

"Is the Hemmawich family that great? Then why didn't I feel good at all during the time I lived there? I opened my eyes every day and thought. I can't help but to think about how Sonic would ridicule me today? Or when I am the air, never existed. I really don't understand why everyone in your family is so annoying, indifferent, arrogant, and self-righteous."
Jeff said, he hates everyone in the Hemmawich family.
Including Alan.

Lil Rak looked at him blankly and Jeff put him down, "Baby, dad is tired today and can't hold you anymore. Shall we hold hands and walk home?"

Lil Rak nodded vigorously, and then hooked his hand with Jeff's little finger.

He turned around and said goodbye to the silent Alan, "Uncle Alan, bye. Good night!"

Jeff didn't even look at Alan, turned around and left.

He didn't look at Alan's expression behind him, nor did he want to know Alan's thoughts.

Maybe it was Lil Rak who was taken away by Tony for no reason, making Jeff fuming with anger or maybe he was tired of the anxiety of fear of separation between father and son these days. Tired of guessing Alan's intentions, he suddenly erupted.

Only at this moment did he realize that he was not as open-minded as he thought.

He has been hypnotizing himself.

Alan treated him so badly because of the original owner's evil deeds.

Alan also had his own grievances but he was even more wronged.

Everyone ridiculed that these injuries really happened to him.

Because of this life, he was used to forbearance and not being treated kindly so he thought it would be fine if he left.

The two owe nothing to each other.

But Alan appeared again. He suddenly broke into his life and inexplicably changed his appearance.

He was very gentle with Lil Rak and he was no longer the same as before.

He said sincerely that he would not take Lil Rak away so Jeff believed him, put aside his guard.

He did not stop Alan from meeting Lil Rak and even overthink whether he was too hypocritical and selfish because Lil Rak was too enthusiastic about Alan.

The results of it? In the end, all is for nothing.

He has retreated and yielded again and again, but still has to be broken down by them.

There was a rustle of footsteps behind him, Lil Rak looked back and found Alan following them.

Lil Rak whispered, "Uncle Alan..."

Jeff ignored it and accelerated the pace of his steps.

Alan silently followed them.

When Jeff went upstairs, he stood downstairs and used his mobile phone to the steps up.

Alan didn't leave until he saw the light in the room.

Back in the car, he remembered what Tony said to him in the study.

"If you don't do it, then I will. I want to see how capable Jeff Thanapon is."

Jeff is right, he is indeed arrogant and self-righteous.

Alan couldn't even refute Jeff's words and he didn't have the slightest anger at his accusations.

Jeff's aggrieved, helpless and indifferent face alternately appeared in his mind.

Alan closed his eyes and sighed faintly.

After that night, Alan did not appear in front of Jeff for several days.

Life seemed to have returned to normal but Lil Rak sometimes pestered him to ask why Uncle Alan didn't come to play with him.

Jeff fooled him every time. Although the little guy was lost, he would soon forget about it.

Children's world, there are colourful snowflakes, sweet chocolate balls and friends who build blocks together. There are too many things to like and the troubles will be forgotten in a blink of an eye.

"Dad! Dad!" Lil Rak ran in happily, "Sky's grandma is going to take us to eat fast food. Dad, can I go?!"

His big beautiful eyes flickered, making people unwilling to refuse.

Jeff nodded, Lil Rak screamed and ran out.

How can he remember that half an hour ago he was still sad for Alan not coming visit them.

Jeff sometimes envied Lil Rak because he didn't have to think about anything. The biggest worry was that he couldn't eat delicious food.

After saying those things to Alan that day, he would always be irritable.

The Hemmawich family was like a slap to Jeff's face. Whenever he was idle, he seemed to hear the countdown of the bomb ticking in his ears.

At a cafe across the street.

The innermost position by the window was still empty. A young couple came over and was about to sit down.

The waiter walked over and stopped them, "Excuse me, this position has already been reserved."

"There is also a sign saying that this is a reserved seat."

The girl laughed, "Is this an Internet cafe or a coffee shop?"

The waiter smiled and led them to another seat, then curiously looked at the seat.

She thinking that the one always showed up on time the other day, how come the handsome guy hasn't come today.

Just after seven o'clock, Alan appeared in the cafe.

He sat down by the window, opened his notebook and continued his unfinished work.

His itinerary has changed in the past few days. His schedule has become from home to company, and then coffee shop.

This location just happened to be able to see the small restaurant of Jeff.

He is not a stalker but he was worried about what Tony would do to Jeff so he came to watch for himself.

It's not that he can't find other people to watch over them but he is always worried that Jeff and their son will be scared.

He has never done this for a person, and he has never been awake at night because of a person.

And this person was actually Jeff whom he used to hate.

The cafe door was pushed open again.

Alan looked at the computer screen intently, as if everything around him did not exist except from time to time he would look up at the opposite's small restaurant.

The seat opposite was pulled apart, making a harsh sound.

Alan looked up and saw that the person was Pete.

The indifference on his face became a little deeper.

"I thought I was wrong. I didn't expect the president to be so idle."
Pete said coldly.

He turned his head, not surprise that this angle can clearly see the movement of the opposite small restaurant in his eyes.

In front of Jeff, Pete was gentle but in front of Alan, he was full of aggressiveness.

Alan picked up the coffee and took a sip, "I just knew that the university teachers are also very idle."
