Sitting down after
a long, stressful day
on a soft, brown couch
is honest bliss.
Letting the body
sink into the cushion
and absorb the stillness
of the silent living scene.
Taking a sip
from a shiny glass of ‘relax’,
releasing all the worries
of the rushed complications of the day.
Daydreamin’
about the crowded streets
of a faraway city,
filled with hidden identities.
Wondering what possibilities
lie in secretive store,
for my so highly anticipated
near future.
Pondering the idea
of the concept of worrying,
spreading across the nation
infecting minds elsewhere as well.
As my mind floats
ever so slightly back to my body,
the pressure is suddenly
lifted from underneath.
I open my eyes,
much like a child would
when it first sees the sunlight,
and I smile.
Not a smile of sadness,
fret nor worry,
but a smile of understanding.
A smile of peace.
