Wikipedia says
a nebula is a cloud of dust,
hydrogen,
helium
and other ionized gases.
A cloud of purples and blues,
golds and greens,
orange and pinks,
blood reds and indigos.
Swarming around
on a pitch black background.
A photograph waiting to happen.
A eruption of color
bursting in the middle of
a darkened reality.
In abstract shapes and forms,
it flows through the
never ending paths
of the universe.
A journey with a burst
of colored hope,
an explosion of encouragement,
a glint of beauty.
Maybe Wikipedia is wrong,
maybe a nebula isn’t a cloud
of dust and gas.
Maybe it’s a beacon of hope
and compassion
for the stars in the universe
who have lost their way.
What if a nebula
was a person?
Or a concept?
Or a theory?
Is it really just a
collection of dust and gas?
Or is it something entirely
different?
But maybe I'm just
kidding myself,
maybe it really is
just a pile of space dust.
No matter how
hard I try,
I will always have a quiet
theory of science being
philsophically correct.
