Slowly spiraling into an endless abyss
Knowing I'm someone they'll never miss
This dark, lonely feeling
Always leaves me reeling
Feelings treated as a microaggression
Stuck in a state of constant regression
Constantly trying to create a personal connection
Consistently trying to earn your affection
Unrequited feelings I'm unable to refute
Breaking down these mental walls I've built
Fleeing from this endless cycle of hell
Hoping one day I can ring that bell
As long as I can have you near
I know that day will soon be here...
Silently fighting a battle unknown
Wondering why I still remain alone
The silence around me only grows louder
Feeling left out like cold clam chowder
Persistently trying to resist the tears
While somehow still trying to face my fears
Knowing that reality won't change
I'm at the end of this exchange
That fleeting ray of light I saw
Reminds me of the reason I always withdraw
Knowing that I can't have them all
Just waiting on someone to answer my call...
Finding myself amongst the pain
Searching for whatever may remain
No longer recognizing the person I see
Wondering where it is he might be
Trying to remain happy despite the struggle
Knowing the signs are ever so subtle
This life of mine is not the same
All I know now is really my name...
Tomorrow we gain yet another chance
Perhaps this time we'll have our dance
This battle we share is one for the books
The only thing greater could be your looks
Loving to see the person you've become
Might just be my rule of thumb
My love for you is all but gone
This dream will end well before dawn...
Swaying in the wind on the joy of love
Praising all but the stars above
Wishing for everything to work out the best
Neglecting myself, not even getting rest
The days are passing yet I remain static
Trying not to be so overdramatic
Emotions exploding effortlessly on end
Knowing my stance will never bend
Beginning again where we ended off
But I'll end it again like a bad cough...
