Dogday remembered the feeling. His insides felt as if they were being eaten out. From the inside out.And yet...his body were being controlled at the same time. Like a twisted form of puppetry.
As he felt a metal object, one that he could only assume was a door, slam into him, he could feel the life fade from him within an instant.
His eyes closed. Exhausted from everything.
The torment. Watching his friends disappear one by one.
And watching Catnap, his best friend in the whole world, fall for a trap. Too tied up in The Prototype's web to be freed.
Despite all that had happened, one wish remained in his mind. One he had ever since that day. Since the Hour Of Joy.
He wished that none of this had happened. That he, Catnap, and the others were living in Playcare, as a big happy family.
Despite the employees. Despite the expirements. Despite everything.
That was what he missed most.
He felt pain leave his body, the once overwhelming exhaustion fading into nothing as he opened his eyes.
"Wait...is that? No...it couldn't be. After all this time...is it..?"
The canine's ear twitched, the voice sounding familiar to him. He heard a soft gasp come from the person, as they yelled out.
He recognized that voice anywhere. One of many that he had deeply missed since the Hour Of Joy.
It was Bobby's voice.
"DOGDAY!!!"
Bobby yelled, immediately rushing to the dog's side, kneeling down beside him. She checked his body, noticing a particular scar near the dog's stomach, about where his waist began.
Where he had been ripped in half by Catnap.
Dogday's eyes slowly fluttered open, greeted by the pleasant sight of an old friend he had missed dearly. He squinted a little, overwhelemed by the sunlight in the sky.
He hadn't seen anything remotely similar to in...
How long? A year? 2 years? 5 years?
He didn't know. The days, hours, minutes, and even seconds all blended together. Each and every single one being a waking moment of agony for the poor canine.
Other critters ran to his side, said critters being Kickin, Bubba, and Picky in particular.
While the others retained a similar demanor to the one they had prior to the last time they met, there were some notable differences.
Kickin seemed to be on edge, as if he's about to be attacked by something. Bubba seemed to carry a constant frown, as if exposed to the horrors of the world.
Bobby and Picky seemed to be their regular selves, however. Especially Bobby. She almost seemed to be unaffected, strangely enough.
