For Hanni, the prince was different than she had expected. All night she had imagined her prince as a rude presumptuous man ready to take her home and make her with the carnal love that only the man would obviously desire. She had imagined that the prince was actually an ugly man with malice in his eyes and wealth to show off.
He, on the other hand, seemed like a typical ordinary boy, but in Hanni's eyes she seemed too effeminate. His soft features and those delicate hands could only belong to a woman, but he was a man and you could also see it in his elegant and courteous ways for her obviously, because in the reality the prince was a girl.
The prince sent a train of servants and soldiers passing with gold on their shoulders and agricultural crops. The king was a little perplexed by the gifts but he accepted them by inviting her into the castle.
"You must be tired, right, Prince?" the queen asked with that smile still on her lips accompanied by her husband walking next to her who was looking sweetly at her two future spouses.
"I would never be tired to see you, your highness," she said with the air of a gentleman. The prince in the queen's eyes was a good boy and, despite the displeased news of the marriage, the king also seemed satisfied with his presence and his language. But Hanni didn't seem completely impressed with the prince.
"How did you spend these days of long travel?" the king asked with a harmonious soriros on his lips, feeling his wife's soft grip fit with her arm.
"They were long and exhausting, but I was rewarded with the presence of your sweet daughter, your highness" the prince always replied as sincerely as possible. The girl really didn't want to believe the prince's words, she seemed like the kind of guy who tells everyone she meets.
She had the face of an innocent and patient boy but Hanni had understood that that cute little face could be used as a bitter lie for her dreams. For the moment, her physical appearance was pleasant, she had to admit: that slender and tall physique adhered to her ideal styles.
The only thing that bothered her was the way she dressed, she was too formal and elegant for her tastes but the man's beauty could make her overlook these minimal details of her clothing.
"I would like to let you rest, prince, but it is better that you get acquainted with your future bride" said the king placing his hands on his daughter's shoulders making her face the direction of the boy who bowed again in front of the king thanking him for the 'opportunity.
"Why don't you show your prince the castle, darling?" the queen asked with a tender smile on her lips as she gently touched her daughter's cheek helping her to relax.
The prince looked at her once more before turning his gaze towards the princess. She was afraid that she might tell her something that she shouldn't hear as a prince. Hanni looked down with a smile falling on her lips as if she was forced, as indeed she was she.
But the prince softened her eyes when she saw her wonder before her. His heart was almost about to fall out of his chest as soon as she saw those locks of hair falling near the girl's face, who with a little laugh was fixing her hair, blaming her mother and her mania for touching his hair even though she hadn't done so since all time.
Her eyes met Minji's asking her to follow her. Hanni walked forward holding her clean dress, brushing her hands over her big skirt. Prince Minji smiled at her at her girl's action, getting a confused face from the princess as she turned and turned her back on him for the first time. The prince reached out and took the girl's arm with that smile still on her lips. It was a gentle grip as if a feather had settled on her arm.
Hanni thought the prince had hands like a child because of the care with which he touched her.
"Let's leave the formalities to the presumptuous nobles, call me by my name, princess" said Minji approaching the girl while still keeping her hand on Hanni's arm who was looking at her even more confused than before.
“It would be a shame not to hear your voice calling my name,” Minji whispered in a soft voice that made Hanni's hair stand on end.
Her voice sounded so sweet that she almost fell to the floor in embarrassment. The prince treated her as if they had known each other for years with such ease that it made her so shy.
“How could it be a shame not to hear my voice say your name, princess,” Minji continued, keeping the distance between them even closer. Minji knew how to charm a woman but such words only came out for Hanni. Her heart offered her the words to say at a set time as if she already knew what the princess could say at any moment.
She really wanted to hear the princess say her name in her lovely voice but it was something impossible for a royal on first meeting, but she was young so such a thing could be done if agreed to by both royals. The grip loosened as she felt the silence exude through the corridors of the castle.
Hanni watched Minji's hand rest calmly at her hips. Only then did she look up at her eyes again, so sweet and hopeful.
“You say this with such audacity that I can do nothing but ascertain your request, Prince Minji,” Hanni said without even thinking twice. She felt her blood boil as he heard the voice of the girl in front of her.
Her name seemed a thousand times more beautiful from the lips of that adorable girl who was now smiling at her as if she had said the simplest thing in the world when in fact her heart was praying to hear her name slip from her tongue again. She would have paid to hear the girl's voice a little longer.
"Princess, you are the only woman I have ever asked this favor of. Don't think I ask this of any woman I meet" Minji said as she stepped forward and took hold of Hanni's shoulders. Minji's presence could be clearly felt; his hands on his shoulders were light and caring.
His shawl was not in the way between his shoulder blades, in fact Minji used this excuse to insert her fingers under the shawl, delicately placing her fingers near the princess's smooth back. She placed his lips almost on Hanni's ear making her breath feel sweet on her earlobe.
"Remember that you are my wife" Minji whispered, stretching his neck, giving a view of his face to Hanni's right side which she now did nothing but ignore for fear that his blush would increase due to such close proximity.
"These corridors are deserted. Show me your room, princess," Minji said in a low voice so that no one, not even the guards, could hear anything. It was forbidden for a prince to enter the princess's room as she was also the only princess, she could have ruined the secret of the room.
Each princess has a room that must only be recognized by herself, only the royal court and the sovereigns of the castle could know the princess' room as it was also a place for the girl to hide when wars and invasions reached the castle.
"I can't, prince, it's against my royal princess code" Hanni said biting her lips at her confession but Minji's hands snaked around her shoulders urging her to tell him where she was.
"I remind you that you are no longer a princess, you are the future queen of the kingdom of Kot" Minji whispered with that smile glued to her lips. She also knew that this couldn't be done but she wanted to see what a room inhabited by a princess looked like, and she would also discover the girl's passions as the room is the only place where one can hide one's secrets from the eyes of others.
Hanni was not convinced by the prince's words, but his hands and her voice relaxed and captivated her like a mermaid in the middle of the sea. She finally gave in, sighing and taking the prince's hand with a quick step as if they were two lovers running away from a herd of soldiers and rules.
