Princess Hanni was dressed and made up like a mannequin on display.  Her maids seemed more excited than her to meet Prince Kim Minji.  They looked like little helpers going back and forth catching up as much as they could for the most famous event anyone has ever seen when in fact it was just a stupid encounter.

Sometimes she thought about the speeches she had made about her future prince: what if he wasn't the man she really wanted?  Could he really live up to her expectations and be a good person to her and her people?  How could she trust a man she had never seen before?

She had always dreamed that her prince would invite her to dance with her and after that evening spent laughing and joking about who was the worst dancer, they would fall in love with her and kiss in the moonlight.

But there was no ball these days, and there was no Moon either, and she knew better than anyone that her, she was the best dancer in the castle at the royal balls.  So why would she desire and hope for these things when her destiny had already been chosen by a useless war caused by a man already killed for her sins.

Wasn't that enough to stop the furious soul of the kingdom of Kot?  How could they cause another casualty to the kingdom of the Lapin Islands by giving away their only princess?  Her mother appeared after a few minutes with a smile on her face and her hands resting on her belly hoping that her daughter would notice her and not ignore her like she was doing these days.

"You may go" the queen said politely to the maids who disappeared like mice discovered by a cat.  Her daughter had always been beautiful, she had to admit it and she had to admire that beauty for a little while before she could be taken away.

She had always kept her in a glass bell jar so as not to ruin her beauty and now her naturalness would be contaminated by the hostile air of the kingdom of Kot which loved war and a life full of action.

She had never thought of her as her daughter in the guise of a queen: for her she had always been a child even when she looked at her now, despite the fact that she was dressed in a very elegant royal dress.  A dress that was mainly used for walking had become a wonderful dress in the eyes of her mother.

A loose, generous dress enhanced by a slim waist circumference that was reduced by wearing a tightly tied bustier.

Since it was cold, she was placed a short cape behind her with lengths shorter than the skirt that went down.  She had small shoes with minimal heels under her feet that allowed her to walk easily.  Her dress was pastel pink, trying to make the minimum difference between the two colors she wore: the pink of the dress and the white of her skin.

Her mother came up behind her with a flower clip in her hands.  With a smile and half-closed eyes to be enchanted by the celestial beauty of her own daughter, she said "Your prince will be so lucky to have you."

Her hands came forward on the hair of the young woman who was silent and still waiting for her mother to do what she had to do.  The woman had always touched her hair from an early age, and Hanni had always loved the light touch of placing her head on top, relaxing her, but today her nervousness was a bit difficult to make disappear.

Her future prince was arriving in a few minutes and she didn't even know what she looked like.  "When you become a queen, remember your parents, my daughter. People will scroll after they gain power" the mother said placing her hands on her daughter's shoulders making her feel her body weight on her once again.

The young woman didn't answer her but she simply nodded as she had always done when her parents were against what she said, but this time it was different.

The story was different, and she didn't even know why she was doing it.  Her heart was suddenly beating with fear of her and she felt her hands drop from shaking so much.  She had always been within these walls that she didn't know what to do as soon as she crossed the threshold into a new, unknown realm.

She felt fear cascading over his head like a river.  She wanted to escape but her elegance kept her from remaining seated and waiting for them to call her to meet the named prince.

"I heard that he is a handsome boy" said the mother, bending towards her daughter's face, showing in her mirror the two females standing very close.  Her cheeks were touching and the squeeze on her shoulders made everything so comforting yet melancholic at the same time.

"He made the hearts of young girls like you go crazy" her mother still said of her trying to cheer her up, but the young girl didn't want to know anything about that prince.  But as soon as her mother began to raise her head and return to her original composure, the maids showed up announcing the arrival of the prince.

A lump formed in her throat as soon as she heard the exact words from the mouths of the three women.  She had her hands still on the arms of the chair, afraid to get up and go with her mother to see her future husband.

She took courage and went down the stairs, only then did she realize that this choice had not been one of her best.

The so-called Prince Kim Minji was there, outside the castle of the Lapin Islands kingdom waiting for the guards to stop surrounding her and asking if she wanted anything for hospitality.

Her heart was beating too fast for fear that the princess would reject her.  She was standing with behind her the group of soldiers and advisors who in their hands held the gifts she had brought from the kingdom of Kot.

She sighed as she felt the castle shake at his arrival, hoping that the princess hadn't run away upon hearing of his presence.  The so-called prince had been looked at from head to toe several times by the guards, thinking that his clothing came from a famous tailor that not even the royal court could afford.

The power of the kingdom could be glimpsed from his princely clothes. She was covered by a black tailcoat that ended at the waist, crossed at chest level with large buttons and continued with two tails on the back, furthermore the tailcoat was always accompanied by an even darker waistcoat, which hugged his stomach.

Then around his neck there was a normally stiff and raised collar, where she left a carefully knotted and not very wide tie on display.  His legs were covered in simple white trousers like the shirt and collar she was wearing.  The trousers clung to his thighs and were tucked inside his boots.

She had in his hand a top hat, used for equestrian riding, which she did not want to wear out of respect for the princess.  Her hair was always tied in a loose ponytail and rested on his shoulders, leaving strands of hair sticking out at the sides of his temples.  She hesitantly awaited the princess's visit.

She felt that she was being observed by the thousand glances that the military court of the king and queen gave her outside the castle doors.

"Prince, come don't be afraid" the queen said making a gesture with her hands to come closer but Minji bowed reverently at the sight of the queen magnificently showing her pure and natural beauty.

She would have married the queen to see her from there, on her stairs with a harmonious smile on her face as if she had seen a friend of hers or some acquaintance from years ago.  It made her tender to see her from afar, she seemed like one of the many characters from her father's court but she was wonderful.

Only then did she notice a figure behind the king.  A celestial figure that made his second bow stop midway.  She felt his heart tingling and his hands sweating at the sight of the young girl.  She blinked several times trying to distinguish reality from a dream.

The young girl came down the stairs with her hands on her lap covered in velvet gloves.  His eyes never left her.  Her soul was shaking at how close the princess was to her.

"My most sincere thanks for your majestic hospitality, princess," said the so-called prince after a while, bending down in front of the princess surrounded by the king and queen themselves.

The queen giggled with her hand in front of her lips making her husband smile at her action.  You could see from her face that she was about to die of anxiety.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, prince," replied the young girl, also bowing.  The word prince rang in his ears like a mosquito that wouldn't leave there.  She wanted to tell her the truth but she knew well that they wouldn't accept it.

She had to keep her teeth tight and try to act like a real prince that every princess wanted.
