"Let's get the ball rolling!" shouted the king in the center of the room, rising majestically from his throne, gesturing to his daughter to do the same thing and go among the nobles to dance.

Minji held her back. Her hand was so light and soft on Hanni's delicate skin hopefully she hadn't inflicted even a shadow of her hand. Hanni looked at her as if she were looking at a question mark in space.

"You wouldn't want to dance without your future husband?" Minji asked, standing up and taking the girl's hands in hers. Hanni had never, ever thought about dancing with Minji.

She seemed like a prince suited for the sword and wars, for smiling and romantic speeches but not for dancing.

She also had the perfect torso to be a gentleman but his presence was that of a nice bold prince.

"I... I thought that.." Hanni whispered, casting her eyes between Minji's pointy boots and her voluminous black dress. Minji smiled at her, dragging her to the center of the room, suddenly spinning her around and then dropping her into her arms.

"You shouldn't judge a book by its cover, just as you shouldn't judge a prince by his appearance" Minji said, closing her eyes with an amused look, pressing his forehead against Hanni's, making her presence felt in that moment so quickly. Hanni gasped as she felt his skin touch Minji's.

The so-called prince may have been quite pleasant company at the table amidst the jokes and laughter but in his heart, and from what she showed, he was a model prince. The classic prince that everyone would like and that Hanni must have wanted.

At least that was what the prince's ways showed. She was also a girl but with a different educational experience than she should have had. Being a female she enjoyed the possibility of understanding a girl's feelings sometimes but at the same time she was uncomfortable loving a girl who was in love with a fake prince.

"What is your biggest dream?" Minji asked, elegantly carrying Hanni's hands on her shoulders while maintaining the bearing suitable for a prince. Hanni smiled at her, hiding her small blush of embarrassment between her own shoulders.

She took a breath and then said "I never had a dream. I already knew my destiny." Minji smiled back at her "Was I your destiny?" she asked, turning the girl around and then making her fall into her arms again, feeling Hanni's head rest against her chest.

"Probably," Hanni whispered with a muffled giggle from Minji's chest. The nobles looked at them as if they were committing a crime.

When we danced we danced, when we talked we talked. They couldn't dance and talk. It was the royal code above all not to be broken for two such royal nobles. People looked at them with perplexity, hoping it was a joke to see the two talking so fluently. The orchestra increased its music without ever letting it end but the two betrothed took refuge behind the castle hall.

Minji with a smile on her lips and red cheeks ran after Hanni who with her hands tied to Minji's walked at a fast pace dragging her through the royal gardens hoping that no one was there. The moon had already set above them and a sky of stars stretched into the darkness.

The fountain gurgled continuously and the two caught their breath right there in the arms of the moon and the fresh sound of the water. Flowers surrounded the air and the scent of pollen wafted their clothes.

Laughter was heard among the gardens still playful and willing to run again but he stopped as his mouth tightened into a shy smile. Hanni had never experienced anything like this: running away from a banquet, rejecting the royal code in the dance, escaping from guards, and deceiving the nobles about their whereabouts now.

She felt Minji's eyes on her and she didn't feel intimidated by that look on her face, in fact she wanted it. Minji caught his breath as she slipped his hand out of her pocket. She walked over to Hanni and gave her a smile cupping her cheek and asking for a look.

"Do you want to know what my dream is, princess?" Minji asked, bringing the girl's face closer to her. Hanni nodded eagerly to know her answer.

"It's hard to explain..." Minji whispered "I'm going to have to show you," she said before her lips crashed into Hanni's.

Her lips, so soft to the touch, touched Hanni's, which at that moment were closed and frightened as if a snake had stung them. Hanni's eyes were wide open but a fierce and heated feeling shook her soul, asking her to open that instinct too and share that kiss once and for all.

Minji's hands, large and long, positioned themselves on her hips, pushing Hanni's body closer to her for fear of making her escape at any moment. But Hanni was too scared to run away.

She had never kissed anyone in her life and she never expected to kiss someone so quickly even though they weren't married. This was against the royal code, if anyone saw them they would be punished severely.

You couldn't have such intimate contact with someone who wasn't even your wedding partner. Minji knew such things well but her strong and uncontrollable feeling rattled in her body like a caged animal.

Hanni's lips remained firm and pure as if she didn't want to sin or force herself to break the royal code but she knew her heart was on another path. She felt her hands walking towards Minji's hair, wanting to feel that feeling of freedom and novelty that she had never felt in her life.

Before her hands and her thoughts could take a wrong turn, Minji stopped, removing her hands from the girl's hips, looking at her as one looks at a love blossoming among the flowers of that garden.

Minji had the air of a poet who had seen her muse while Hanni had an aura of resentment as if what she had done with her could bring her downfall to future generations of her.

"Do you understand what my dream is, princess?" Minji asked, placing her hands on the girl's shoulders and then sliding them to her hips again. Hanni metabolized what had happened to him as soon as she felt his skin free from any external contact.

Her cheeks burned bright red and her heart exploded into a thousand little pieces. Her dreamy prince had kissed her under the fountain in her gardens as she had always wanted.

Ever since she was a child, her most fervent dream of meeting a prince was to meet him after a boring and boring dance, spent with laughter under the tables and an escape into the gardens and then ending with a kiss.

Obviously it was the fruit of an adolescent fantasy still in her mind a few days before, and above all it was against the royal code to give the first kiss to a prince even though they were betrothed. Her hands refused to let the prince look at her lips trembling from the strong shock of the action.

Minji on the other hand saw her without shame or disgust. It was as if in everything she did her eyes transformed her into a celestial wonder. She swallowed, missing Hanni's lips on hers.

How could her lips taste so good? She constantly wondered Minji wrapping her hand over Hanni's which was so soft to the touch of her. Maybe she was asking too much or maybe it was just her head telling him to dive into a second kiss?

"Can we..." Hanni whispered making Minji's eyes light up for a second, "Can we go back inside?" the girl finally asked. A thousand thoughts passed through Minji's mind and all of them were negative.

She had been foolish to believe that a kiss would push their relationship into a more frivolous one. Hanni was too insecure to do everything she imagined. She took a step back, holding Hanni's hand still in hers.

"You'd rather not have me around right now, wouldn't you princess?" she asked with a small defeated laugh. Hanni looked up at Minji walking into her and hugging her as if she were leaving.

"Why do you keep running away?" she whispered into Minji's chest. The so-called prince clasped his hands on Hanni's back hoping that a hug wouldn't destroy their relationship. She had always been stupid.

Even though she was a girl she had never understood how girls felt in such situations.
