🌙* "Remember: the time you feel lonely is the time you most need to be by yourself. Life's cruelest irony."

~ Oscar Wilde

(Idk if u can already tell, but Harry Potter has my whole heart 🥺)

AN - Also this chap features no Luca unfortunately however I promise next chapter is gonna be a mad one, I promise !

"Okay now open your eyes." My sister whispers in my ear before she removes her hands from my eyes, allowing me to finally open them. And once I do, I'm immediately greeted by our flat completely adorned with birthday decorations.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY RORY!" A series of shouts suddenly erupts from all around me when I finally glance over to the guests that I assumed Ana had invited over, including Maddy, King, Belle and some of my co workers. I had also noticed Ana had brought over some of her friends which I could only figure out was a kind gesture on her part from the lack of friends I had.

"Oh wow.." I snap out of my daze in disbelief, not expecting the surprise at all. "Um t-thank you-I didn't expect this one bit." I tell everyone before I quickly plastered on a fake smile.

Even though Anastasia's grand gesture warmed my heart and I was of course eternally grateful for her doing this for me, especially for the guests that had made the time to come to my celebration, I wasn't entirely thrilled myself. So much so, I had completely forgot it was my birthday until Luca had mentioned it.

Luca. God even voicing his name in my head had made me want to burst out into tears all over again. Even though I wanted to hate him with every fibre in my body, I couldn't. I don't think I was even capable of possessing that much emotion over a person. Especially if that person was Luca. The fact that he had remembered my birthday from when I had told him all those months ago had made my head hurt. How could someone like Luca be this kind to me? After all the things he had done?

"Earth to Rory." Ana sing songs into my ear making me immediately snap out of my trance to face her.

"Do you like it?" My sister asks, a hopeful look in her eyes once she glances over to me.

As soon as I had stepped into our flat after I said goodbye to Luca, Ana immediately came to greet me, making it the first time we had interacted since our last conversation...well our last kind of confrontation conversation.

Deciding it was time to make peace with my sister I smile back at her. "Yes, thank you Ana, it's beautiful."

At my reply, my sister lets go off the breath she was holding before she holds back the tears threatening her eyes, my words signifying we were going to be okay.
