"Rory?"

"Rory, are you okay sweetheart?"

Muffled voices suddenly erupt all around me however their voices only fall deaf against my ears as the only thing I could focus my attention onto was Noah.

A badly beaten and bruised up Noah. Out of all the things that I had seen, this was possibly quite the worst thing I had ever laid my eyes on. I felt like my own eyes were playing tricks on me.

Since my arrival, Noah hadn't even looked at me once. It was like Noah was in some sort of trance, like a zombie. His whole body was slumped to the ground whilst his arms were attached to some rusted chains leading up from the wall. It was like the Noah I once knew had gone and was replaced with this whole new different person. His face was completely void of any emotion, his new found beard had made him appear a lot older than he was. But the way his eyes were drawn in together had pulled my stomach into knots because they hadn't blinked since I first laid my eyes on him.

And for the first time I suddenly snap out of my trance and finally take in my surroundings. The strange room which had my best friend locked up like some animal. My friend who had made no attempt to see who had entered the room but had only continued to stare at the space in front of him. And once my eyes allowed to follow what he was looking at I couldn't help the audible gasp that had left my mouth.

A dead body.

A few feet before Noah laid a decomposing dead body which I instantly recognised as a girl from their matted hair. But the decaying corpse had made it impossible for me to see who it was but a gnawing feeling inside of me confirmed on who I believed it to be.
