We looked at Peter, who was just minding his own business, eating his rice... well, trying. In fact, it was as hard as a rock. I gave up on eating mine and so did Olivia. Doctor Bob was also having trouble with his soup. It was very chewy and tasted raw. If they were going to detain us here in this so called asylum then they could have at least given us some nice food to eat.
After the horrific lunch I had just eaten I hoped for myself to sleep like a bunny. However, I had this weird feeling in my heart, I didn't know why.
10PM, MEETING ROOM
"Bob, take this, Evelyn, you too." Inventor says, handing them both a box. Doctor Bob peeks inside it and his eyes widened as he stared at it for a minute or two.
"What are we supposed to do with these?" Nurse Evelyn asks, carefully examining the contents of the box.
"Take them to every one of those peasants' room, except Room 204. Inject it while they're asleep." Doctor Greg smirks, picking one of the tranquilisers up and then throwing it back in the box. Nurse Evelyn and Doctor Bob just stand there, speechless.
"I thought your little plan was being carried out next week." Doctor Bob says, slowly placing the box back down.
"We had a change of heart. We want to crush those beetles once and for all, so we thought, why not do it all at once?" Inventor states, slightly giggling. He then looks over at the empty seat next to him.
"Where is Cassandra?" He asks out of the blue, pointing at the chair.
"She went somewhere, I don't know where though." Doctor Greg says, rubbing his chin to think.
"Eh, who cares, we don't need her anyways. Take all of this to the staff." Inventor states, handing Doctor Greg a trolley of more tranquiliser boxes. "Explain to them what's to be done."
"Bob, pick that box back up and off you go. You too, Evelyn." Inventor says, Doctor Bob and Nurse Evelyn just obey him and walk off.
11PM, STAFF ROOM
Doctor Greg pushes the trolley all the way to the staff, who seemed lively despite the time. They were chattering away... well, until Doctor Greg walked in.
"So, your boss and I noticed that these medicines are more effective on the children while they're asleep. Please go to their rooms and inject it on them. Both patients in Room 204 are allergic to the sodium contained in it-"
"But sir, it's liquid-"
"QUIET. Anyways, they're both allergic to something in that medicine so don't go to that room. Off you go." Doctor Greg says, then leaving the room. The staff share a box between four people and start leaving.
7AM, NURSE CHARLIE'S POV
I woke up the usual time, got dressed and made breakfast. My husband was out of town and my child was living in college, so I was alone. I made my breakfast which was tea and a croissant. I wasn't very hungry.
I was twirling my teabag in my cup as I was drinking it, staring into space, until I heard a knock on the door. Please don't be Greg, I thought to myself before getting up from my comfy space. Greg was always knocking on my door, asking for me to be with him again. After I saw what he did to Rosalynne, it was a definite no. I already knew Jeff was Rosalynne's father, since a very long time ago, however he promised not to tell her. He broke that promise. I know for a fact I didn't.
I went towards the door, getting my lines ready in my head of how I was going to reject Greg for the billionth time. I opened it, expecting it to be him, but instead it was...
