A FEW DAYS LATER, 1:30PM

"Prosecution would like to call Ms. Charlotte Dawn Parker to testify, your honour."

"Oh, that's me." Nurse Charlie whispers, setting her things aside.

"Charlotte?" I hiss back, puzzled. Charlotte was a pretty name, I don't know why she wouldn't use it more often.

"Shh. We'll talk about it later." She whispers back, this time in a slightly higher tone before walking up to the front. As she sits down, we hear another chair squeaking to get up.

"Objection, your honour. Hearsay." The lawyer says, and the judge gives him eyes of death. Olivia facepalms, and I laugh to myself quietly. This guy wasn't serious, was he?

"She hasn't even stated her name yet for the court, Mr. Ramsbottom."

"I know. But objection, hearsay." He repeats once again, this time fixing his blazer. The judge facepalms in front of the court.

"Mr. Ramsbottom, you've been quite unprofessional and immature during this entire hearing. You've disturbed so much, and the case could have been done with if it weren't for you objecting at unnecessary times. I will have no hesitation to file a report and send it to your law firm after this case is over. Now please be seated and give her a chance." The judge scolds the defense, and the lawyer does as he's told. Olivia is now glaring at defence with her beautiful but scary eyes.

"Sorry about that, please, do carry on." The judge huffs a long, abnormal sigh.

"Thank you, your honour. Please state your full name for the court."

"Charlotte Elizabeth Parker."

"Right... and how long were you working with Mr. Lee?"

"Since 2012."

"Mhm... so that's about 12 years."

"Yes."

"How was the workplace environment?"

"Toxic is an understatement.... it was suffocating. It was trauma for me." She says, cringing from her memories.

"Okay. Ms. Parker, please tell the court about the attempted murder that took place on the 25th of May."

"Aha.. that day. So I was fired and both Mr. Lee and his friend were making a scene for me. I went to some teenagers' rooms and was saying my goodbyes and well, they came in. So then, they were 'seeing me out', and I pretended not to notice the very obvious tranquiliser in Mr. Lee's hand. I was getting out of the room, and he stabbed me in the arm with it."

"And it says here that you reportedly switched the overdosed illegal class A drug in that tranquiliser, am I correct?"

"Yes, he tried to overdose me, but I changed it to an insulin one because I'm diabetic and didn't take my insulin that day."

"Do you happen to have that tranquiliser as evidence to present to the court?"

"It's here in a bag."

"May we please -"

"Just do it." The judge cuts the attorney off, massaging her temples. If this judge was so unbothered about this case, why did she accept it in the first place? She's quite rude, to say the least.

Anyway, the substance was shown to the court, which had a small white liquid powder in it.

"That's how I nearly died."

"Objection, hearsay."

"Lies, you say? I have security footage recorded of it too if you'd like to see that, Mr. Ramsbottom. "
