Amidst The Chaos - In Delusion...?

Chapter 8: Injured

4:35PM

"Hey girls, I was told to-"

I glance up at the now bloody wall, then at Olivia, who is grimacing in pain. Was the wall this hard? I touched it gently with my fingers, blood covered the pores of my fingers. My thoughts were then interrupted by a manly scream as footsteps stomp towards us.

"Don't touch that! Olivia- what have you done this time?!" Doctor Bob drops his files as he rushes over to Olivia, who seemed to be losing a lot of blood despite the minor accident. I stare at Doctor Bob in shock of what Olivia had just done, and he is tightly holding her hand, trying to stop the blood from gushing out.

"Rosalynne, tell me EVERYTHING that just happened in front of you. Quickly. We don't have time."

"Well, Nurse Charlie told us she'd been dismissed, Olivia had a meltdown and then I heard a thud and the wall was painted red with a bleeding hand." I say, still shaken.

"You- you punched a wall, Olivia? Again?" Doctor Bob doesn't seem surprised at all.

"Is this a recurring thing?" I ask, mildly confused. Olivia punched walls? What was I hearing right now?

"Yes, unfortunately. This is the fifth time she's punched something whilst having a meltdown. We have to take her to the hospital given that she has a low threshold for pain. She comes back with a bandage somewhere on her body every six months." Doctor Bob says, before he elaborates further, Olivia is swaying back and forth.

"Olivia, stay with us. You'll be okay. Rosalynne, this is the only time I'm letting you out by yourself-" Before he finishes, we already see Nurse Evelyn and a few other doctors crowded at the door, witnessing the scene. Nurse Evelyn was now calling an ambulance, the other doctors were either stood there confused or rushed into helping Doctor Bob with Olivia, who was still swaying, surrounding her so she doesn't fall.

"The paramedics will be here soon." Nurse Evelyn says, looking rather blank. Then, Olivia collapses.

"Olivia-"

"OUT of the way, EVERYONE." A voice approaches the chaotic scene. Great. It was the rat-faced Doctor Greg.

"What do we have here?" The unnamed doctor asks, examining an unconscious Olivia with his bare hands, squishing her face.

"She punched a wall. Again. The ambulance is coming." Doctor Bob explains until he's cut off by the one and only..

"Anger issues." Doctor Greg muffles. This guy. "Anyways, the ambulance should be here now so Bob, talk to them, we don't wanna do the talking."

Doctor Bob nods as they walk away. I'm witnessing the whole scene, just baffled. The thought didn't leave my mind... why did they need an ambulance if this place was basically a hospital? I wanted to investigate further but I decided to do it later. I then found Olivia's diary under her bed and slipped it into her pocket along with a pen, her favourite pen to be exact, whilst Doctor Bob was talking to the paramedics. Even they looked a bit suspicious of the place. I then heard the sound of the stretcher being pulled out and saw Olivia's unconscious body being placed on it, whilst blood was still oozing out of her hand.

What was I going to do without her?

12AM, OLIVIA DIARIES

The sweet smell of the hospital welcomed my nose as I opened my eyes and as I sat up, I saw multiple doctors who were surrounding me step back a little.

"Hey! We thought you were gone for good." One doctor says, sighing of relief.

"What happened?" I ask, confused. Me punching the wall shouldn't be that serious, right?
